Quixotic Paperie 2nd Birthday Celebrations!

Good Morning all! Hope you're all well!

Today is an exciting day! Why? It marks the 2nd Anniversary for Quixotic Paperie!

2 years ago on 1st June 2009, Elaine (Quixotic Cards) took the leap and opened an online craft store selling a small selection of crafty stash. Now, the store features stamps from favourite companies around the world, lots of pretty papers and embellishments and other papercrafting favourites.

To celebrate this year, we have a month filled with fun! Stick with us as we show off projects featuring products from around the store, bring you tutorials and tips, and throw the spotlight on some of the awesome stamp companies in stock at Quixotic Paperie! There will be prizes along the way (and a big one at the end of the month), so you won't want to miss a thing!

To get the ball rolling, this week there is a birthday special offer at Quixotic Paperie:

1st June to 8th June 2011

10% Off Throughout The Store!

(This does not stack with existing sale offers or discount coupons, and does not include Gift Certificates.)

Plus, the Design Team are all showing off their favourite creations from their time so far with Quixotic Paperie!

Pay a visit to the rest of the team to see a round up of their favourite makes.

But first, here are a few of my personal favourites!

I Love Whimsy Stamps and Crissy's Carousel Horses are my personal faves in the range-this is card I made last year featuring 'Wings of Hope'. The gorgeous papers are Basic Grey Olivia.

When Graphic 45 arrived at Quixotic Paperie these were the first papers I bought-'Halloween in Wonderland' and I am in love with them as they combine 2 of my favourite things-Halloween and Alice in Wonderland! I don't think they're limited to Halloween makes at all-I will be showcasing these papers next week!

This was the first image I used- 'Stepsisters'- when Mo Manning's images got turned into rubbah and is one of my favourite cards I've made-it very quickly found a new home after selling in My Etsy Shop. The papers are from one of my all time favourite pads-Tim Holtz 'Vintage Shabby'

One of my most recent cards using the fabulous Christy Croll image 'Alice'. I went a bit darker with this card and got out the Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland papers again! This card is still available to purchase here.

Don't forget to pay a visit to the other lovely ladies in the DT (links above). See you all again soon for more fun!

Oh Alice!

Don't forget to Enter My Blog Candy!

Good morning! Hope your week is off to a good start! Popped along to show you a make made with the gorgeous new Stamping Bella-Christy Croll image Alice (just been re-stocked too!). I really love her style of images so just had to have a play with this one! She has been coloured with copics.

I decided instead of going down the traditional route of turning her into quite a girly Alice I'd go a bit dark;) so out came the Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland papers (LOVE these!). I cut up the playing cards to make them into an embellishment which are the Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland pack.

I'm going to enter this into the following challenges: Make it Mondays (anything goes).

This card will be added to My Etsy Shop in this Section shortly.

That's it from me today! Rowena xx

Quixotic Challenges DT on a Friday!

Evening all:) Hope everyone's well! Oooo it's been gorgeous here the past few days! Doesn't it make you feel good when the weather's nice? I've ordered some new Summer clothes so hopefully the weather will stay nice long enough for me to wear some of em:) Bit late again this week, been another busy one but hey it reminds you to join in right?

So this week at Quixotic Challenges the challenge is to use Word Art as your main focus rather than an image. Quite a fun one for those of us who always use images and are used to colouring. The sentiment I've used is by Paper Makeup Stamps-they have the most gorgeous word art:) The papers I've used are from the new scrummy Capella Range which you get from Elaine here. Did you get your Roll Call kit? Ooo I did-such good value-haven't had time to ink those cuties up yet though! I'm going to enter this card over at Basic Grey Challenges who want us to punch it (doily lace) and use Basic Grey, Gingersnaps who want us to use a quote, and Practical Scrapperswho want to see patterned paper.

Making that DT card inspired me to make an Alice in Wonderland card set. I went quite simple really but I think it's quite effective! They're available to buy here on etsy and here on folksy if you're in the UK.
I've had quite a few pieces of good news this week too-a few different people have got in touch and said they'd featured my etsy shop on their blog or website. Today EtsyGreetings have featured my shop on their blog-you can have a peek here if you fancy! I think it must be my lucky week!
Right that's it from me, not going to waffle on-still haven't had my dinner yet but hubby's cooking enchiladas and they smell yummy! Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you might leave! xxx

Vintage Postcards

Afternoon everyone! Lovely weekend ahead of us in the UK as it's Bank Holiday on Monday:) Doing anything fun over the next couple of days? It's been a busy week over here, with my mother in law visiting for the week and orders and stuff in between:) Leo's had a lovely time though-that's the thing when you have family scattered around the country-you don't get to see them as much as you'd like.

Anyways, I've got some totally different to show you today-postcards! I had a request in my etsy shop for some and then thought they'd be fun to make some more of so they're all available to purchase in my shop if you're interested:)

This is the vintage floral set:

Reverse of postcards:~

And this is the vintage style set:)

Hope you likey:) Don't forget I've got a Sweet Pea Stamp giveaway going on here-and keep you're eye out cos there's gonna be a few more too:) Thanks for taking the time to pop by and for any comments you'd like to leave-they mean a lot and read every one:) xxx

Tea Party

Morning guys! I had hoped to post this last night but I just didn't get round to it-was so aiming for a post a day this week! Ah well! Since everyone seemed to really like my Alice in Wonderland Tag Sets I decided to have a play and make some little place cards-and well its just plain fun to make something different for a change!

I made a set of six, 2 of the mad Hatter, 2 of Alice and 2 of the Red Queen. These are available to buy here incase anyones interested;) By the way obviously people are having little Alice in Wonderland themed parties-if you're having one can you invite me please! Wouldn't it be fun! I think these will work for the Simon Says Challenge which is going to the movies-my movie being Alice in Wonderland and Sir Stampalot Challenge where the theme is fantasy.

Here's a card I made too-I don't think I've ever really made a card that I haven't coloured-at least not with a stamp-hmmm well not for ages and ages anyways! So quick to make-stamp-ink-stitch-done as Gordan would say!

Me and Leo have been up very early this morning but mr postie was very early too and he had a nice parcel for me with some goodies to alter, a new distress ink, some new paints, bits and bobs so hoping to have a play tonight when Leo's tucked up in bed:) Hope you have a wonderful weekend-the sun is shining here right now so lets hope it stays that way:)

P.S. Anyone is un the UK watching 'over the rainbow' on Saturday nights? I love it!

Mad Hatter Gift Tag Set

Evening everyone! Hope you're week's going well! I've just come back from my friends house for a playdate (our kiddies are the same age) which was fun-every other week as both our husbands work funny hours we take it in turns to go to each others house and cook dinner and the kids get ready for bed together and stuff-its always fun and the kids love it! So I've had a lovely afternoon!
Something different to show you today, I made some fun tags for my etsy shop in a mad hatter theme, I also have some different tag sets in my shop too if you want to take a looky. I find it really therapeutic making tags! I know lots of people in blog land enjoy making multiples of favour boxes etc but I get the same feeling from tags! I've distressed em all up in frayed burlap. All the tags were die cut using a spellbinders die, stamped and then some pretty toffee coloured ribbon attached. As it happens they fit in perfectly with a couple of challenges this week so I'm going to enter them into:

Cute card Thursday-Mono mania (brown)
Sophisticats-So distressing
Die Cut Dreams-Vintage with no colouring

Here's a bit of a close-up:~

Well that's it from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with my Quixotic Challenge card! Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you might leave-love hearing from you:)

P.S. I feel a giveaway coming on.....

A very merry unbirthday to you!

Afternoon everyone! Hope you're having a lovely day-sun is still shining here so all's good! We're at my mums today as it's her 64th Birthday and because hubby has the day off so he's at home laying our new floor whilst me and Leo are out of the way! Happy Birthday Mum! We've just had a nice lunch together and of course there'll be cake later-what's a birthday without cake right?!

When I first saw these Sweet Pea Stamps by Elaine Cox I had to have the plates-I just love them! They arrived yesterday so I had to ink em up straight away! I thought the Kioshi papers would go perfectly and it seems to be a good match! I coloured the gorgeous image in with my copics-I really had fun colouring it in too! For the layout I used the fab sketch by Martine over at Basic Grey Challenges. Am also going to enter this at Stamp Something who want to see stitching and Practical Scrappers who want to see us using our markers! Here's an image close-up:~

I think that's about it from me today-for all those going to Ally Pally have fun-so jealous-so wish I could be there! I'll be back tomorrow:) If anyone's interested this card is available in my etsy shop:) Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!
