Quixotic Paperie DT-CASE us

Good afternoon all! I didn't think I'd be here writing this actually as my internet connection has been off all day! I hate it when that happens! Anyways, am here now:) Before I start with myQuixotic post I'd just like to say thank you to all of you who voted for my card over at TGF Royal Battle-our team The Quixotic Stampers are through to the next round!

So the challenge this week at Quixotic Challenges is to CASE one of the Design Team members work-this could be a particular past creation or just their general style. I chose Simonne-our newest member of the team-her work is absolutely gorgeous! I'd recently treated myself to this beautiful Kraftin Kimmie Bird fairy-(unfortunetly its just gone out of stock but I'm sure it'll be back real soon!) and I found this gorgeous card here made my Simonne a few weeks ago so I had to CASE it! I've used the same papers which are Basic Grey Origins-sooo lush! The sketch is courtesy of the OCC. I used one prima flower which I painted with Shimmerz and added a little yellow rose to. I hope I managed to capture her style! It'll be very fun seeing the entries this week-to see who CASE's who!

Here's an image close-up:~

I'm going to enter this in the following challenges:

Crafts and Me: fairies or Wings
Cute Card Thursday: Dimensions (silicone glue is used to create this)
Pile It On-Animals
Simons Says-distressing-ink distressing using spice marmalade

For anyone that's interested this has gone on sale in my etsy shop:) Well that's all from me today. Pop back tomorrow as it'll be a double posting day and I'll have some big news to share!

I need your Vote!

Afternoon ladies! Hope you've had a lovely weekend:) Have you seen the stamping competition at The Greeting Farm? Well me, Elaine, Kim and Emma are in a team called Quixotic Stampers and the first Royal battle is going on now!

I'm going to enter this over at Stamp Something as they want us to doodle and I drew in Anya's eyes:)

Only 45 teams will make it through to the next round which is based on the highest number of votes. Each team had to come up with a card on the theme which was Retro and we had a colour inspiration piccy of blue, brown and above is the card I made. Very retro right? To vote just leave a comment on our entry here (you get 3 votes btw). Please? Pretty please?? Thanks guys! xxx

Afternoon all! How are we today? Good I hope! These weeks do seem to be flying or is it just me?! So, Wednesday means another challenge from Quixotic Challenges and this week the lovely Carole picked Monochromatic.

Something Different-8 x 8 Canvas Papercraft/Mixed Media Project

Evening all! How's your week going so far? Hope its getting off to a good start! All's good here, has a lovely week last week as Ian was off and was Leo's birthday and this week is looking pretty good too:) Sooo..have got something different to show you tonight! For a long while I've wanted to start some different kind of projects but haven't had the time and then this weekend I got cracking!

I primed an 8 x 8 canvas with gesso then painted it all over with adirondack pink acrylic paint. Once dry I added Ranger distress crackle paint in picket fence, inked with worn lipstick then applied perfect pearls all over to make it really shimmer! My image is the gorgeous Diane Duda stamp called 'Believe' available from Funkykits here which I coloured with copics (just for a change!) then applied glossy accents all over. Here's a close-up:~

All the papers are from the yummy Crate Paper Collection in Pink Plum. I've applied tons and tons of Shimmerz to the kraft card stock and the Crate papers, and the flowers and even the lace. If it didn't move it got Shimmerzed! I also added tons of paper roses which once again, they got Shimmerzed!
I made a large lollipop flower out of kraft and the Crate papers, then added some bling to make a pretty centre:~
Also used more of the lush lace from Quixotic Paperie here and the Bazzill jewel templates to add the bling swirls. Here's a side shot:~

I've listed this item on ETSY here if you fancy it hanging on your wall:)

Am also going to enter a couple of challenges with this project:

Pile It On-Furry Friends
Little Red Wagon-use copics
My Time To Craft-lovely lace
Your Next Stamp-distressing
Pollycraft-Sparkly things

As you can probably tell I had soooo much fun making this project!

I also have a bit of news, I've left the Sugar Nellie Design Team so I can try some new things and to have a bit more time to make some fun projects for me. Thanks again Karen for the fab opportunity you gave me-I had a fantastic time-and to all the DT girls and Zoe-they're all fab! Am not going anywhere mind you, will be here just the same amount-even more maybe and watch this space for what comes next!

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you leave-they mean a lot and I do try to come visit you back too:)

Sweet November Doorhanger-For the Girls

Morning all! Hope you're enjoying a lovely relaxing Saturday morning! I've been working on this wooden doorhanger for the past 2 evenings, and so enjoyed making it, it's so pretty and girly! I just adore Amy's Sweet November fairy's, this one is called 'Sparkle Thistleweed'-what a fab name! I do love my images to have some real character and these fairys have tons of it! I love working with them!

I bought some handcut wooden doorhangers a week or so ago especially to make some sparkly pretties:) I've coloured 'Sparkle' with my copics, used my clear copic atyou spica pen all over the hair to add sparkle, added shimmerz gold glimmer over the dress and applied a generous coat of Glossy Accents all over the image to provide a bit of sturdiness. Here's a close up:~

All the papers I used are from the new Crate Paper pack called 'Pink Plum' available from Quixotic Paperie here. After covering the hanger with the papers I applied some Distress Crackle Paint in picket fence to all the edges then went over them with worn lipstick distress ink. I used a few scraps to make the lollipop flower below and added some more Shimmerz to the edges then attached a glittery brad to secure. To accent the lollipop flower I also used the bazzill bling templates to add some bling-they're so easy to use!

I used some pale pink roses from my stash and glittered them up with some Stickles which you can see below. Isn't the lace just lush! I absolutely love it, in fact I'm getting quiet addicted to it-you can check out the range here, but I used fuschia and orange.

I'm adding this girly glittery doorhanger to my Etsy Shop to find a new home to sparkle in:)
Here's another yummy flower close-up:~

I'm going to enter this into the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz-something for the kids-this is perfect for little girls and grown up girls alike:)
Stamp Something-Distressed Something-I used distress inks and distress crackle paints and paper distressing on the lollipop flower.
My Time To Craft-Lovely Lace

Well I think that's about it for now! Enjoy your weekend and thanks so much for stopping by today and for any comments you leave-love hearing from you!

Sweet Easter Bunnies

Evening friends! Happy St Patricks Day! It was Leo's 2nd birthday today so it's been a full packed day this end as we had a party this afternoon-we're still nibbling on bits of party food! At the minute Leo's in a Fireman Sam phase so most of his toys he got were Fireman Sam themed-all noisy too;) Anyways, so it's been lots of fun here but that's lets get on with the card:)

Elaine sent me the adorable CC Designs Sweet November Baby Bunnies and ever since I first saw Amy Young previewing them I fell in love with them-they're sooooo cute right-although I do feel that way over all her stamp designs-I just plain love her style!!! It was so lovely making a proper spring themed card with all the lovely fresh spring colours. I used a mix of the gorgeous new BasicGrey Green at Heart 6 x 6 papers and the equally yummy BasicGrey Kioshi 6 x 6 papers. If you haven't got either of these new paper pads I urge you to get em-they really are gorgeous! All of the papers have been inked with Tim Holtz distress ink in spiced marmalade. Recently I treated myself to some Retro punches and they had their first outing on this card:) All papers/card have been stitched with the sewing machine. For all your Spring and Easter cards you can't do much better than this fab sentiment set by Amy R and a bargain at £6.25.

Here's a little image close-up of this darling Bunny (coloured with copics):~

I'm going to enter this into the following challenges:

ASOS-Easter

Altered Anya and Friends-Quixotic Challenges

Afternoon! Sorry I've been MIA this week but we're all a bit under the weather over here which is why I'm late with my Quixotic Challenge DT card:) The theme for the next 2 weeks is 'Altered Anya and Friends', basically we want you to alter your Greeting Farm stamps in some way. Amy Young one of the fabulous Greeting Farm DT has joined us a guest this time-afterall she is the queen of altering:) If you need some tips on how to alter your stamps check out Amy's tutorials:

As this challenge is a bit different you MUST use Greeting Farm images (can be digis from heretoo) and you have 2 weeks to get your entries in. Also there will be a top 3 showcase and the winner will receive a surprise embellishment gift worth £10 from Quixotic Paperie. That's a great prize right?! Plus you'll go into the monthly prize draw too-can't be bad!

So anyways.. onto my card! My altering is very subtle and is ideal if you're a bit unsure or afraid of diving straight into altering-I've added spots to Miss Anya's headband. I've gone for quite a simple design as well on this card, using the Sketch over at Midnight Madness and just adding some pretty Prima E-Line flowers:) I did add some Shimmerz in pixie dust to the flowers though! All the papers are from the gorgeous new Crate Paper collection called Pink Plum which Quixotic Paperie have started stocking. If you want to grab some of the lush lace I've used on my card check out the selection here-am addicted to using it at the moment! Am also entering this over at Cupcake Craft Challenge as their theme this week is flower power.

Here's a little close-up:~

Think that's it from me, hope to be back again this weekend! We're going to see Alice in Wonderland tomorrow night and I can't wait! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your lovely comments:)

Puppy Dog Tails...

Evening all! Hope the start to your week has been a good one! Thought Spring was on its way but its gone all chilly again here. At least its not snow though right?! Been playing this evening with some more of the fantastic Diane Duda digi stamps from Sugar Nellie, this one is calledPuppy Dog Tails, and the beauty is you can be colouring in right away! These boy images by Diane are my absolute favourite images for boys-they're so fun, and real too! Hopefully Leo won't ever bring a snake home though!

What do you think to the papers I've used?! I'm in love! Elaine has just started stocking Crate Paper at Quixotic Paperie and these used on my card today are from the Brook Collection Kit, the quality is just fantastic-and they're double sided and a great weight-like cardstock. You can check out all the Crate Paper goodies here.

As usual I've used my copics to colour, and distress ink in china blue around the edges of the image and finished off with machine stitching. The clear worded ribbon I got from a show a couple of years ago-wish I knew who made it as its slowly running out! Here's an image close-up:~
I'm going to enter this card over Sketch Saturday-fab sketch yet again this week! Am also entering at Allsorts who have a mens theme this week, Pollycraft who want to see distressing (I did ink distressing) and a digi, Paperplay who have a just because theme.

Thats it from me today-thanks so much for popping by and for any comments you leave-I love reading them and love popping over to your blogs to check out what you've been upto! xxx

From The Heart-Quixotic Paperie DT

Evening friends! Hope you've had a lovely weekend! We just got back this afternoon from my dads, and we've had a lovely time:) Just finished this card tonight using all the lovely goodies from Quixotic Paperie.

Don't you just love this image?! I'm going to use her again and again-so versatile and she was gorgeous to colour! It's a good job she was actually as this was my 3rd colouring attempt after Leo added his own 'artwork' to the other two. In fact he also did to this one and I had to alter the image a bit by giving her an extra piece of dress! She's called Isabella and you can grab her here, great price too me thinks:) All the papers are from an MME paperkit which you can buy here.

As luck would have it this card fits nicely into a few challenges:

Stamp Something-Girly Somethings
Simon Says Stamp-Girly or Mothers Day
Alphabet Challenge-S for Stamping
Tuesday Taggers-Swirls and Curls sponsored by Crafty Individuals

Here's an image close-up:~

You can't see well on the picture but I used my spica pen to add sparkle to the wings and in real life it is nice and sparkly! For even more sparkle I used some of the gorgeous Prima crystals. Well think that's about it from me! Thanks so much for popping by and any comments you might leave-love reading them! xxx

Big Sneak Peek!

Evening guys! Hope you're week is going well! Been a bit of a funny one here, really busy and Leo has been on and off with the teething bless him. Anyways got something exciting to show you today! The Sugar Nellie design team has got their hands on the new Mary Hall stamps which will be released in a couple of weeks but let me tell ya they're all so gorgeous! Totally different from her previous designs! So keep your eyes peeled for other peeks from the DT and the blog for the release date!

I've coloured this cutie in with copics and added Shimmerz in gold glimmer to her wings, flowers and the butterfly. All the paper is Basic Grey Urban Prarie-doesn't come out often as I find it tricky to get hold of! The gorgeous pink flowers are from here with some Stickles in stardust around them. The butterflys are made using my new Martha Stewart punch, and again I've added some stickles to accent them. Here's a close up:~

I'm going to enter this over at Sketch Saturday-lovin this weeks sketch-am a fan of all the layers! I think layers seem to 'going out' though right now, anyone else noticed that? Am also going to enter it at Flutterby as they have an open theme as long as there are wings of some kind! Well that's it from me tonight, hopefully I will be back tomorrow, otherwise it will be early next week as we're visiting family over the weekend. Hope the weather's nice! Thanks so much for stopping by today and for any comments you leave-they mean a lot! xxx
