Something Different-8 x 8 Canvas Papercraft/Mixed Media Project

Evening all! How's your week going so far? Hope its getting off to a good start! All's good here, has a lovely week last week as Ian was off and was Leo's birthday and this week is looking pretty good too:) Sooo..have got something different to show you tonight! For a long while I've wanted to start some different kind of projects but haven't had the time and then this weekend I got cracking!

I primed an 8 x 8 canvas with gesso then painted it all over with adirondack pink acrylic paint. Once dry I added Ranger distress crackle paint in picket fence, inked with worn lipstick then applied perfect pearls all over to make it really shimmer! My image is the gorgeous Diane Duda stamp called 'Believe' available from Funkykits here which I coloured with copics (just for a change!) then applied glossy accents all over. Here's a close-up:~

All the papers are from the yummy Crate Paper Collection in Pink Plum. I've applied tons and tons of Shimmerz to the kraft card stock and the Crate papers, and the flowers and even the lace. If it didn't move it got Shimmerzed! I also added tons of paper roses which once again, they got Shimmerzed!
I made a large lollipop flower out of kraft and the Crate papers, then added some bling to make a pretty centre:~
Also used more of the lush lace from Quixotic Paperie here and the Bazzill jewel templates to add the bling swirls. Here's a side shot:~

I've listed this item on ETSY here if you fancy it hanging on your wall:)

Am also going to enter a couple of challenges with this project:

Pile It On-Furry Friends
Little Red Wagon-use copics
My Time To Craft-lovely lace
Your Next Stamp-distressing
Pollycraft-Sparkly things

As you can probably tell I had soooo much fun making this project!

I also have a bit of news, I've left the Sugar Nellie Design Team so I can try some new things and to have a bit more time to make some fun projects for me. Thanks again Karen for the fab opportunity you gave me-I had a fantastic time-and to all the DT girls and Zoe-they're all fab! Am not going anywhere mind you, will be here just the same amount-even more maybe and watch this space for what comes next!

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you leave-they mean a lot and I do try to come visit you back too:)

Puppy Dog Tails...

Evening all! Hope the start to your week has been a good one! Thought Spring was on its way but its gone all chilly again here. At least its not snow though right?! Been playing this evening with some more of the fantastic Diane Duda digi stamps from Sugar Nellie, this one is calledPuppy Dog Tails, and the beauty is you can be colouring in right away! These boy images by Diane are my absolute favourite images for boys-they're so fun, and real too! Hopefully Leo won't ever bring a snake home though!

What do you think to the papers I've used?! I'm in love! Elaine has just started stocking Crate Paper at Quixotic Paperie and these used on my card today are from the Brook Collection Kit, the quality is just fantastic-and they're double sided and a great weight-like cardstock. You can check out all the Crate Paper goodies here.

As usual I've used my copics to colour, and distress ink in china blue around the edges of the image and finished off with machine stitching. The clear worded ribbon I got from a show a couple of years ago-wish I knew who made it as its slowly running out! Here's an image close-up:~
I'm going to enter this card over Sketch Saturday-fab sketch yet again this week! Am also entering at Allsorts who have a mens theme this week, Pollycraft who want to see distressing (I did ink distressing) and a digi, Paperplay who have a just because theme.

Thats it from me today-thanks so much for popping by and for any comments you leave-I love reading them and love popping over to your blogs to check out what you've been upto! xxx

Partners In Crime

Morning everyone! Hope your enjoying a lovely Saturday morning! Me and Leo have been up bright and early, I feel like I could do with a little nap now! Leo's going through a Fireman Sam phase, he's absolutely mad on it, and I already feel a bit Fireman Sammed out already this morning:) I think we'll do some painting later, and we've got cakes to finish-they need icing after being baked yesterday afternoon. So that's my plans:) What you upto?

I told you I was loving the New Diane Duda digi stamps right? She has such an originality in her illustrations, and she really captures something special, especially in these boy stamps that have just been released. This card I've made features 'Boys Will Be Boys', how cheeky do they all look?! I've used a mix of 'boy papers' from Basic Grey Archaic collection and MME Abbey Road. I've kept the embellies to a minimum this time with some buttons and some raffia lace, so the focus remains on the image:)

I've followed the fab sketch over at Papertake Weekly-love Dawny P's sketches! Am also going to enter this at the Secret Crafter who wants to see stitching, and Paper Sundaes who want to see distressing. Here's an image close-up:

Well that's it from me today! Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you might leave-I love reading them! Have a great weekend! xxx

You're a Treasure!

Evening friends! How's everyone today? Good I hope! If not then at least the weekend is nearly here! Since it's Friday tomorrow we'll be off to playgroup which means Leo will be worn out enough for a nap unlike today! When he doesn't have a nap he becomes a terror-which is why I spent an hour and half cleaning black Sharpie marker off my white living room door this afternoon!!! He really got good coverage too, is funny now but this afternoon not so much:)

Anyways....the new Diane Duda digi stamps are here! They are soooo fabulous too-which is what we expect from Diane and Sugar Nellie right? You can grab them here, and of course you don't have to wait for mr postie to deliver-instant gratification:) I decided to use 'Flower Fairy' first, isn't she fab! Since she's such a fun image, I had to use my lovely bright and colourful MME Love Me Do papers. Elaine sent me the red iridescent pearls-they go really well with my colour combo me thinks and they're sooo pretty! I love these cute little ladybug charms, Elaine has got soooo many charms in her shop so go have a little gander.

Here's an image close-up:~
I did actually follow a sketch for the layout over at Whimsical Wednesdays, and am also going to enter it at Crafty Creations who want you to cut it out and pop it up which I did with the image and some help from my silicone glue. Practical Scrappers want to see stamps so this works too:) Am also going to enter at Totally Stampalicious who want to see glitter/bling (I used Shimmerz in pixie dust on the wings).

So what are your weekend plans? Anything nice planned? I think it'll be quite a quiet one here, as quiet as can be expected with a 2 year old anyways, but next weekend me and Leo will be going to visit my Dad up in Darlington which will be fun! Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments you leave-I really love hearing from you and I try my best to come visit you back! Hugs xxx

Winter Love

Morning guys! How's everyones week going so far? Good I hope! I'm still poorly but hopefully will be feeling better soon once my antibiotics have kicked in:)

On Friday I got my monthly Design Team package from Sugar Nellie and oh my how sweet it is! I will never get used to receiving dt packages, I always feel like the luckiest crafter alive to be given such wonderful stamps and goodies! I just had to use this new Diane Duda stamp first, tis my favourite I think and they're called 'Winter Birds' and are available to buy here. To see all the new releases from Sugar Nellie go here as Leanne Ellis, Diane Duda and Mary Hall have all got new releases out-you're gonna love em! I thought these birdies would go super well with my new MME Love Me Do paper set available here from Quixotic Paperie-they are soooo gorgeous! I thought these beautiful birdies would be fab as a Winter anniversary card perhaps or even a not so traditional Christmas card to a loved one. I might save it for Ian for our 1st wedding anniversary in January;)

For the layout I've used the sketch over at the MME blog because even though its more geared towards a scrapbooking layout there's no way I could resist having a shot at the fab prize they've got since I love MME so much! Also I'm going to enter this over at Cute Card Thursday (another awesome prize this week!) where the theme is primary colours, and Allsorts where they want to see sparkle!

Stuff: Sugar Nellie stamp 'Winter Birds' by Diane Duda available here, copics to colour, MME Love Me Do paper pack and accessory sheet available here, Cosmic Shimmer iced crystal jewels (think that's the name!) for snow on branch, flowersoft polar white for earmuffs, sewing machine, dcwv glitter stack, stickles for adding glitter around hearts, accessory sheet of MME paper pack, hero arts sentiment, distress ink in broken china.

Here's a close up of the cuties:~

Well that's it from me today, back to my sick bed! Thanks so much for stopping by and any comments you might leave-I love reading them and do try to come visit you back! Be back tomorrow with another Quixotic Challenge DT card!

Happiness

This image makes me so happy when I see it! I just love the quirkiness of Diane Duda's stamps! The past two evenings I've just not been in the mood for creating though. I realised today this was probably due to mountain of stash on my craft table! I'm not a tidy worker by any means but because I do do alot of crafting and have a habit of not tidying up after it my desk can quickly become covered! So it was time to clear up! Now I have so much space!

I haven't played over at Sketch Saturday for a couple of weeks so thought I best remedy that! I've also combined a few other challenges:) At Whimsy Challenges they want to see your friendship cards (am just in the nick of time for entering this..again!), tuesday taggers (a newie to me) want to see flowers as do A Spoonful of Sugar, and Papertake weekly want to see creations with a theme of a season-I'm going for Summer!

Stuff: Sugarnellie stamp by Diane Duda 'Upside Down', coloured using copics, distress inks in shabby shutters and broken china, core'dinations card, Basic grey papers 'Lemonade collection', McGill flower punch, xcut flower punch, prima and papermania bling, studio g sentiment, BoBunny doublesided ribbon.

We had a fab day at the Farm Park on friday, leo loved feeding the animals! We all went on one of those big trampolines as well-so funny! My candy will be closing soon! I've absolutely loved reading all your comments on what has made you smile-all of em made me smile! I also had a lovely email today from a fellow crafter (if you're reading this Michelle-you really made my day!) which made me smile even more! Hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend-here in the UK we've been super lucky with the weather!

So it's now out and set up with it's own little table next to mine:) I've also used the new Diane Duda stamp (sugarnellie) that I got for the blog hop, I do so love this one. I had such fun making this card-I was thrilled when this little princess landed on my doormat! Isn't she adorable! As she also comes with the little princess kitty it's like a 2 in 1 as you can use them together or seperately! I've coloured her in Promarkers and also added a tint to her to make her a bit extra rosy:) When I first saw this little lovely I decided I was either going to go with lovely bright papers or girly/romantic ones but I chose to go bright and colourful. The papers are BasicGrey's Lime Rickey which are just fabulous. I sprayed the lace in gold craftynotions glimmer mists and popped a little princess charm through. Here's what I used:

Materials: SugarNellie Diane Duda stamp coloured with Promarkers, BasicGrey Lime Rickey papers, lace from haberdashery stash sprayed with Craftynotions glimmer mists in Gold, charm from stash, rub on from stash, distress inks for shading in china blue, and antique linen, prima flowers also sprayed with glimmer mist in gold, core'dinations cardstock.
