Twinkle!

Evening everyone! Hope you're week is going well! I'm not sure where the time goes! Anyways got a new card to show you! Been having a play with some of the fab Paper Make up Stamps-LOVE their Sentiments-there's just something for everything-even when there's nothing left to say!

So this gorgeous sentiment is one I've been hoarding for a little bit and have just got round to using-you can snag it here. Also dug out my Tim Holtz papers-Vintage Shabby -I think these are my fave set, they're just so pretty!

I stitched all the edges of the paper, distressed them and then added lots of Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Silver. I actually started off following a sketch but it just doesn't even resemble it now I seem to have gone off on a tangent. But I am going to enter this card over at the Crafty Pad whose challenge is Girly.

Next week I must upload some pics of my new kitten I got for my Birthday-she's adorable! and aptly for this post she's actually called Star!

See you soon and thanks so much for stopping by!

Snow Day!

Evening friends! We got a fair bit of snow here yesterday and tonight! Was beginning to feel left out! Sorry for my lack of absence once again but it's all go, especially with the moving, which will be on Tuesday now-cutting a bit fine to Christmas! How's all your preps going? I got the bulk of my cards sent, but still need to do 5 more to catch the last post on Monday, plus parcel some pressies off.

The project today I'm showing is a gift for my brother in law, a calendar and a bookmark. I think he'll like it! I used a mix of papers from Cosmo Cricket 'The Boyfriend' to cover some chipboard and stamped on them in Tim Holtz's large number stamp-I love how big some of his stamps are, perfect for large areas. Feels kinda nice have a big wood mounted stamp in your hands:) I also used my label maker on the front of the calendar. Not sure the brand of the star tape is, picked it up with some of others at a craft show a coupla years now. I used the bind it all machine for the binding and added some twine too. The template for the calendar can be found in my other post here.

Here's a close-up of the bookmark. The skull is also a Tim Holtz stamp. Around the edges of both of the calendar and bookmark I used distress inks and then used the Tim Holtz distressing tool.

Here's a side view of the calendar:~

I'm going to enter this over at Stampin For The Weekend who want to see calendar creations. I just need to make myself one now before the New Year comes along:) It also fits quite nicely with the Secret Crafter's Challenge of last minute gifts. That's it from me! Thanks for popping by and for any comments you might leave, they really mean a lot:) Keep warm xxx

Double Dutch....

Evening everyone! What lovely weather we're having still, hope everyone has had chance to enjoy some sunshine:) Todays card is for Double Dutch which challenged everyone to make a monotone something so my colour choice was brown. I've also used a new SugarNellie stamp which is from Diana Duda's new collection, this little luv is called 'curtsy'. I've actually done some paper piecing on her dress, I used a page from a really really old book that was going to go to a car boot sale or charity shop. I had to add some vintage photo distress ink though;) Over at allsorts this week they want to see wings in projects so shall be entering over there too.

Stuff I used: SugarNellie stamp 'curtsy' coloured in distress inks with a sepia tint applied on top, sepia and crackle accents, grungeboard elements-wings (tim holtz), adage ticket (tim holtz), distress inks in vintage photo, old paper, tea dye, brushed corduroy, faded jeans, papermania regency paperpad, papermania simply elegant paper, page from old book, distressing tool, sanding files, core'dinations cardstock, lace, button and pin from stash, and raffia

Thanks so much for stopping by, and any comments you may leave, they make my day! See yas tomorrow!

Stamp Something Tim Holtz stylee

Afternoon everyone! Hope everyone is well today! Lovely weather still isn't it, little Leo is toddling around in his shorts and vest-he looks soooo cute!

Over at Stamp Something this week the challenge is Black, white and one colour. My colour option is green as you can see. Lots of fun making this-i do so love my Tim Holtz products:) The backing paper is actually newspaper-I found an old newspaper online which I printed out, sponged some distress inks (vintage photo and tea dye) on it then stamped in distress ink (peeled paint) a Tim Holtz harlequin stamp all over. The main image is another Tim Holtz stamp which I stamped in distress ink black soot then cut out-how cool is the image! I got me dymo label maker out again-I saw an article recently in the new scrapbook inspirations mag about this cool little tool and apparently there's a whole website dedicated to label art so I am gonna check that out soon and give some new techniques a try using different materials instead of the traditional label materials. Here's my list of materials:

Stuff I used: Tim holtz stamps 'dream a little dream' and 'harlequin', distress inks in black soot, peeled paint, tea dye and vintage photo, raffia, papermania regency pack, core'dinations cardstock, distressing tool by tim holtz, sanding files, star brads from stash, dymo label maker, nesties, embossing folder and cuttlebug.

Hope you likey! Thanks for stopping by and any comments you might leave-they make my day and well they let me know you've visited so I can visit you back!

Playing in The Sugar Bowl

Hello friends, what a glorious day! How beautiful is the weather! I've received some lovely award recently that I haven't yet posted but shall do tomorrow, sorry for the lateness of that for those that have given them, I really appreicate them and that you thought of me.

Onto the card! It's Sugar Bowl time again....my fave! I've used my Leanne Ellis stamp that I won but haven't inked up yet as I was waiting to find some papers I liked for her, which I did yesterday. I'm really happy how it's turned out, I absolutely love this style and this little lady just sums it all up perfectly I think. The please include option was 'kraft' actual or colour so I've gone with colour since I don't have any. I think Lilian's sketch is fab, and the prize you can win is the set 3 of the gorjuss girls so you should definetly enter. They always give the best prizes over there:) I used quite a few Tim Holtz products, I coloured with distress inks and I also used a Tim Holtz Mask which is how I achieved the clock and cog-the ink colour I used was black soot (sponged). I would really recommend the masks if you fancy something different-they are big enough to use on your scrapbook pages too:) Here's the full list of what I used:

Materials: SugarNellie stamp (Leanne Ellis) coloured with Distress inks (brushed corduroy, walnut stain, pine needles, black soot, tattered rose, peeled paint). K and Co paper, core'dinations card, PM paper regency, cuttlebug with nesties and embossing folder, raffia, buttons from stash, prima flowers, tim holtz mask with distress ink black soot for the cog and clock.

Thanks for stopping by and any comments you might leave for me-they make my day!

P.S Lelia asked how I achieve the 'highlights' around the cardstock edges-all I do is use core'dinations card which I sand around the edges and then distress using a Tim Holtz distressing tool-then thats the effect! Hope that helps!

Simon Says Tim Holtz and Stamp with Fun-Not a Card!

A really fun project to show you today! I went mental with my distress inks and all my fun things that are tim holtz! I made this box from a SplitCoastStampers tutorial here. If you haven't been over there you really should, their forums are just jam packed with super cool stamping stuff! Even if you're not good at making boxes and bags and stuff I promise you'll find this easy. I'm entering this over at the Simon Says Challenge (use any Tim Holtz products) and the Stamp with Fun (not a card). I used about 5 stamps on this box only one of which wasn't Tim Holtz-and I've used a ton of distress inks:). Just to clarify ALL the images you can see have been stamped! For the filler inside I used rafia and outside to tie I used some twine. I was gonna use this as a gift box but I've decided to keep it:) It's an ideal little gift box though isn't it! So here's what I used:

Materials: Basic Grey cardstock 12 x 12 urban prairie, chipboard, distress inks in peeled paint-tattered rose-walnut stain-black soot-tea dye, Tim Holtz stamps, hero arts french letter background stamp, raffia and twine from hardware shop.

Hope everyones had a lovely day! Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave which truly make my day to hear your feedback! See yas tomorrow!
