Quixotic Paperie 2nd Birthday Celebrations!

Good Morning all! Hope you're all well!

Today is an exciting day! Why? It marks the 2nd Anniversary for Quixotic Paperie!

2 years ago on 1st June 2009, Elaine (Quixotic Cards) took the leap and opened an online craft store selling a small selection of crafty stash. Now, the store features stamps from favourite companies around the world, lots of pretty papers and embellishments and other papercrafting favourites.

To celebrate this year, we have a month filled with fun! Stick with us as we show off projects featuring products from around the store, bring you tutorials and tips, and throw the spotlight on some of the awesome stamp companies in stock at Quixotic Paperie! There will be prizes along the way (and a big one at the end of the month), so you won't want to miss a thing!

To get the ball rolling, this week there is a birthday special offer at Quixotic Paperie:

1st June to 8th June 2011

10% Off Throughout The Store!

(This does not stack with existing sale offers or discount coupons, and does not include Gift Certificates.)

Plus, the Design Team are all showing off their favourite creations from their time so far with Quixotic Paperie!

Pay a visit to the rest of the team to see a round up of their favourite makes.

But first, here are a few of my personal favourites!

I Love Whimsy Stamps and Crissy's Carousel Horses are my personal faves in the range-this is card I made last year featuring 'Wings of Hope'. The gorgeous papers are Basic Grey Olivia.

When Graphic 45 arrived at Quixotic Paperie these were the first papers I bought-'Halloween in Wonderland' and I am in love with them as they combine 2 of my favourite things-Halloween and Alice in Wonderland! I don't think they're limited to Halloween makes at all-I will be showcasing these papers next week!

This was the first image I used- 'Stepsisters'- when Mo Manning's images got turned into rubbah and is one of my favourite cards I've made-it very quickly found a new home after selling in My Etsy Shop. The papers are from one of my all time favourite pads-Tim Holtz 'Vintage Shabby'

One of my most recent cards using the fabulous Christy Croll image 'Alice'. I went a bit darker with this card and got out the Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland papers again! This card is still available to purchase here.

Don't forget to pay a visit to the other lovely ladies in the DT (links above). See you all again soon for more fun!

Birthday Wishes with Whimsy!

Just a real quick post today, am super busy but really wanted to show you this card that I made last week that's been waiting to be posted! This was actually a custom order for a lady in My Etsy Shop as she just loves the Whimsy Carousel horses (also available direct from Whimsy here)-who can blame her eh?!!

I used the yummy Olivia papers by Basic Grey and coloured the image, called 'Wings of Hope' with my copics. The glitter on the wings is the fabby Viva Decor glitter liner in Silver-my Stickles have become redundant now I've found this stuff!

A Serene Shy-Ann Whimsy DT

Evening friends! Got a Whimsy card to share with you today! I have got lots of things to show you that I've been making so I'll try and get organised and write my posts up for this week. How's your weekend been? Ours has been good-Ian's off at the moment having some holiday as his mum and step dad are visiting for the week and spending some time with Leo. Today we went to the seaside which was quite fun but the weather wasn't the best so we didn't venture for a dip in the sea!

Anyways...I've got a card featuring the beautiful Shy-Ann by Whimsy Stamps from the very fun and whimsical Mythical Collection. to show you!

I've coloured her in with my copics, added some yummy Shimmerz to her wings and then decided she needed something extra so I added lots of glossy accents. Love the effect of the glossy accents over the Shimmerz-really effective! I also added Shimmerz to the pretty Prima flowers available here. I've used the stunning Kioshi papers again from Basic Grey-just can't help myself-I think this must be one of my all time fave Basic grey pads. I also added some pretty tulle ribbon over the layers of the card. If you're in the UK and Europe over at Quixotic Paperie Elaine is having a sale on Whimsy stamps so do go check that out!

Here's a little close-up:~

For the design I followed the fab sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week and am also going to enter it at: Simon Says Challenge (things with wings), Practical Scrappers (ribbons, fibres and floss).

I've listed this card for sale in my etsy shop here if anyone's interested:) Well that's it from me-just a quick one today you'll be relieved to hear! I'll be doing my blog rounds this week to catch up with everyone. Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you leave me-I love hearing from you!

A Spoonful Of Sugar GDT Card

Afternoon guys! Hope everyone is well! Have been at the hospital this morning to see the orthopaedic surgeon about my back so am all sore after being prodded and what not. Anyways Debs asked the Whimsy DT if any of us would like to guest over at ASFOS this week and I just had to say yes! Super easy theme this week too-its a Happy Birthday theme since it's Debsbirthday tomorrow-so do pop over and give her some Birthday love!

I had to ink up princess Emma-isn't she adorable! I coloured her with my copics. If you live in the UK and Europe you can grab your Whimsy stamps here, if you're in the USA grab em directhere. I wanted to use some girly papers so I went with the basic grey Eva pack and used some Bazzill Bling for matting. The sketch I followed was at Creative Friday, totally new challenge to me. I used some pretty Prima flowers and painted them with Shimmerz for some extra sparkle:) I'm also going to enter this at Creative Card Crew who is also having a happy birthday challenge Allsorts (stitching) and Stamp Something (layers) Here's a little close-up:~

Ooo before I go can I ask you all to check out our Elaine's entry for the semi-final round of TGF Battle Royale, the challenge was to make candy packaging. Now this week the rules have changed-everyone only gets one vote (one comment=1 vote) so if you like our entry-personally I think it's utterly fabulous-please please vote for us! It's the last evening to vote and we really need them to get through to the finals! Thanks so much!

Right well that's it from me off to sort out dinner and then this evening I've got DT work to do and some wedding orders from my Etsy which I'm well chuffed about! Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments you leave-they mean a lot!

Slumber Party with Whimsy!

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone is well and having a good start to the week:) Leo is much better today, bless him, and I got some decent sleep so I'm back in the land of the living, mostly anyways;)

The dt for Quixotic have a fun week planned starting from today, over the course of the week we'll be featuring different Whimsy stamps which you can check out and purchase from Elainehere:) I absolutely love Whimsy stamps, as the images are so unique and have such character, particuarly the animals! But for today I've chosen to use Pajama Time Emma, she's so cute in her snugglies:) I've been coveting her for a while and as luck would have it Elaine sent me her in my dt package:) First thing I thought was that I wanted to do a slumber party (sleepover as us Brits call it) invitation card. So as you can see that's what I've done, and well it just had to be all pink and girly didn't it! Here's a close up of Emma:~

I've made a large circular tag to pop the stamped invitation wording on so this fits in with Paperplay Challenges and over at The Secret Crafters challenge they want to see our cards for girls so this is perfect, the colour combo I've used is bang on with the one at the Our Creative Corner, love pinks and browns and Cupcake Craft Challenges want to see our use of distressing techniques!

Stuff: Whimsy Stamps 'Pajama Time Emma' available here, MME Laundry Line glittered paper stack here (I LOVE every single sheet in this stack-totally gorgeous!), Core'dinations cardstock in brownie, distress ink in worn lipstick, tim holtz distressing tool, su ribbon, su sentiment, Martha Stewart doily lace punch here, circle nesties, mini doily, organza ribbon from stash, copics to colour.

I'll be back tomorrow with any luck and later on in the week I'll have another Whimsy make:) Keep an eye out for the other Quixotic dt's Whimsy creations this week and stop by and show em some love! Thank you for popping by today and for any comments you might leave for me. Huggles xxx

The first thought when seeing the papers was that this adorable Whimsy Owl would just go perfectly-I think this owl is just the coolest owl image ever! The layout for the card is from Simon Says Challenge-tis Heidi's birthday today (Happy Birthday Heidi!!!) and there's a special prize for this weeks winner (I live in hope!).
