A Serene Shy-Ann Whimsy DT

Evening friends! Got a Whimsy card to share with you today! I have got lots of things to show you that I've been making so I'll try and get organised and write my posts up for this week. How's your weekend been? Ours has been good-Ian's off at the moment having some holiday as his mum and step dad are visiting for the week and spending some time with Leo. Today we went to the seaside which was quite fun but the weather wasn't the best so we didn't venture for a dip in the sea!

Anyways...I've got a card featuring the beautiful Shy-Ann by Whimsy Stamps from the very fun and whimsical Mythical Collection. to show you!

I've coloured her in with my copics, added some yummy Shimmerz to her wings and then decided she needed something extra so I added lots of glossy accents. Love the effect of the glossy accents over the Shimmerz-really effective! I also added Shimmerz to the pretty Prima flowers available here. I've used the stunning Kioshi papers again from Basic Grey-just can't help myself-I think this must be one of my all time fave Basic grey pads. I also added some pretty tulle ribbon over the layers of the card. If you're in the UK and Europe over at Quixotic Paperie Elaine is having a sale on Whimsy stamps so do go check that out!

Here's a little close-up:~

For the design I followed the fab sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week and am also going to enter it at: Simon Says Challenge (things with wings), Practical Scrappers (ribbons, fibres and floss).

I've listed this card for sale in my etsy shop here if anyone's interested:) Well that's it from me-just a quick one today you'll be relieved to hear! I'll be doing my blog rounds this week to catch up with everyone. Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you leave me-I love hearing from you!

Quixotic Challenges DT-Water

Afternoon guys! Hope you're day is going well! Me and Leo have been at my friends this morning for a playdate and lunch which was nice and before Ian goes off to work he's just setting up Leo's new bed-he's moving into a big bed now!

So since it's it's Wednesday again that means its time for another Quixotic Challenge and this week the theme is water-it can be a colour scheme, charm relating to a sea creature, stamp, lots of possibilities! I've chosen to use the absolutely gorgeous new Belles and Whistles stamp called 'Wishes'. How gorgeous is this image?! Really fun to colour too! I went with my basic grey Kioshi papers and followed the fab sketch over at Papertake Weekly. Haven't really used much in the way of embellies-just got my retro punches out again-especially since the papers are so pretty! Here's a little close-up:~
Don't forget to check out the other girlies DT samples-they're absolutely gorgeous! Hope you can find time to play along! Incase you're interested this card will be listed shortly in my etsy shop:) Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you leave me-love hearing from you!

A Spoonful Of Sugar GDT Card

Afternoon guys! Hope everyone is well! Have been at the hospital this morning to see the orthopaedic surgeon about my back so am all sore after being prodded and what not. Anyways Debs asked the Whimsy DT if any of us would like to guest over at ASFOS this week and I just had to say yes! Super easy theme this week too-its a Happy Birthday theme since it's Debsbirthday tomorrow-so do pop over and give her some Birthday love!

I had to ink up princess Emma-isn't she adorable! I coloured her with my copics. If you live in the UK and Europe you can grab your Whimsy stamps here, if you're in the USA grab em directhere. I wanted to use some girly papers so I went with the basic grey Eva pack and used some Bazzill Bling for matting. The sketch I followed was at Creative Friday, totally new challenge to me. I used some pretty Prima flowers and painted them with Shimmerz for some extra sparkle:) I'm also going to enter this at Creative Card Crew who is also having a happy birthday challenge Allsorts (stitching) and Stamp Something (layers) Here's a little close-up:~

Ooo before I go can I ask you all to check out our Elaine's entry for the semi-final round of TGF Battle Royale, the challenge was to make candy packaging. Now this week the rules have changed-everyone only gets one vote (one comment=1 vote) so if you like our entry-personally I think it's utterly fabulous-please please vote for us! It's the last evening to vote and we really need them to get through to the finals! Thanks so much!

Right well that's it from me off to sort out dinner and then this evening I've got DT work to do and some wedding orders from my Etsy which I'm well chuffed about! Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments you leave-they mean a lot!

Tea Party

Morning guys! I had hoped to post this last night but I just didn't get round to it-was so aiming for a post a day this week! Ah well! Since everyone seemed to really like my Alice in Wonderland Tag Sets I decided to have a play and make some little place cards-and well its just plain fun to make something different for a change!

I made a set of six, 2 of the mad Hatter, 2 of Alice and 2 of the Red Queen. These are available to buy here incase anyones interested;) By the way obviously people are having little Alice in Wonderland themed parties-if you're having one can you invite me please! Wouldn't it be fun! I think these will work for the Simon Says Challenge which is going to the movies-my movie being Alice in Wonderland and Sir Stampalot Challenge where the theme is fantasy.

Here's a card I made too-I don't think I've ever really made a card that I haven't coloured-at least not with a stamp-hmmm well not for ages and ages anyways! So quick to make-stamp-ink-stitch-done as Gordan would say!

Me and Leo have been up very early this morning but mr postie was very early too and he had a nice parcel for me with some goodies to alter, a new distress ink, some new paints, bits and bobs so hoping to have a play tonight when Leo's tucked up in bed:) Hope you have a wonderful weekend-the sun is shining here right now so lets hope it stays that way:)

P.S. Anyone is un the UK watching 'over the rainbow' on Saturday nights? I love it!

Let Them Eat Cake!

Evening all:) Hope you're doing well, and are having a nice week-Friday tomorrows so almost the weekend! Got anything fun planned? Not sure what we're upto but me and Leo are going to my mums on Saturday which will be nice:) My mum's hobby is art so Leo always has lots of fun painting with her:) Anyways..

Last weekend was the new Kraftin Kimmie release which I always look forward to as I just love the quirky stamps, and the cuties too:) When I saw this card made by Elaine as her sneaky peek I knew I had to have that stamp! Along with Alice in Wonderland I also love Marie Antoinette-how gorgeous is the dress in this image-was soooo much fun to colour! I haven't made an easel card since December so thought I'd have another go-they are just so special I think! I made my easel card so the front was 6 x 6-can't be doing with any smaller than that really-there never seems to be any room left! If you've not had a go at making one yet here's a fab tutorial by Jacqui with simple instructions and piccies. Here's a front on piccy:~

I'm going to enter this into the following challenges:~

Simon Says Challenge-The Movies-Marie Antoinette
Practical Scrappers-Glitter/Bling
CCT-Touchy Feely-the yummy Prima lace
ABC-S is for Sparkle-glitter and glamour dust

The flowers I used are from the Prima E line-such fab value aren't they? I spritzed them with Shimmerz in Mudpie then sprinkled a little glamour dust over them. The leaves have got a touch of stickles added in eucalyptus, and all the pearls are once again from Prima's fab E Line. Ooo almost forgot about the lace-I've never bought any Prima lace before until the weekend and oh my-it is so special! You'll know exactly what I mean if you've got some and if you haven't you need to!

Once again this card shall be popping along shortly to my etsy shop;)

Thanks for all the lovely comments you've been leaving me-I so appreciate them-and thanks for popping by today! See you tomorrow:)

Quixotic Paperie DT-Heavy Metal

Evening all! Hope you've had a good day-been a busy one here-but good busy-Ian's been on his day off today and took Leo out so I've had some extra creating time and time for adding listing in my etsy shop-which is where this card shall be going shortly:) Ooo and Quixotic Stampers are through to the semi-finals of the Greeting Farm Royal Battle-wohooo! Thanks to everyone who's voted so far-I'll be calling on you again;)

This week seems to be flying-it's already Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Quixotic Challenge-this week Kim has challenged us all to use metal on your projects-this can be pins, charms, staples, metal tags, spacers, and any other metal things you can think of! Elaine has put an offer of 10% off all spacers, pins, charms, flat backed pearls, jewels and Prima flower centres until 21st April so fill yer boots! lol

I had to use this Greeting Farm cutie called Dee Dee, and I decided to go all purple on this card-tis my fave colour y'know but I don't often use it on cards and projects really! All the papers are from the Basic Grey Sugar Rush paper pad available here, I inked all the edges with some distress ink in dusty concord. In my most recent DT package Elaine popped in some pins and these gorgeous beads which I added through my ribbon. I've not really used beads before but hey even I can stick a few beads through a pin so if you've not used them don't let it put you off-it really does add a pretty accent and best of all its customisable to suit the colours you've used rather than having to buy pins in every colour! Here's a close-up:~

For the layout I've followed the fab sketch over at Create4fun. Am also going to enter this at:

Allsorts-Petals and Pearls-
All That Scraps-Ink Distressing
Lucy's Cards-Stitching
Your Next Stamp-Stitching

Ooo and the sentiment is from the Spring AmyR sentiment set which you can grab here-the sentiments really can be used all year round not just for Spring! Think that's it from me today, hope you can find time to join us at Quixotic Challenges this week-ooo and Judy's back from her month long hols so go say hi and welcome her home! Thanks so much for coming by today and for any comments-I love hearing from you:)

Mad Hatter Gift Tag Set

Evening everyone! Hope you're week's going well! I've just come back from my friends house for a playdate (our kiddies are the same age) which was fun-every other week as both our husbands work funny hours we take it in turns to go to each others house and cook dinner and the kids get ready for bed together and stuff-its always fun and the kids love it! So I've had a lovely afternoon!
Something different to show you today, I made some fun tags for my etsy shop in a mad hatter theme, I also have some different tag sets in my shop too if you want to take a looky. I find it really therapeutic making tags! I know lots of people in blog land enjoy making multiples of favour boxes etc but I get the same feeling from tags! I've distressed em all up in frayed burlap. All the tags were die cut using a spellbinders die, stamped and then some pretty toffee coloured ribbon attached. As it happens they fit in perfectly with a couple of challenges this week so I'm going to enter them into:

Cute card Thursday-Mono mania (brown)
Sophisticats-So distressing
Die Cut Dreams-Vintage with no colouring

Here's a bit of a close-up:~

Well that's it from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with my Quixotic Challenge card! Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you might leave-love hearing from you:)

P.S. I feel a giveaway coming on.....

A very merry unbirthday to you!

Afternoon everyone! Hope you're having a lovely day-sun is still shining here so all's good! We're at my mums today as it's her 64th Birthday and because hubby has the day off so he's at home laying our new floor whilst me and Leo are out of the way! Happy Birthday Mum! We've just had a nice lunch together and of course there'll be cake later-what's a birthday without cake right?!

When I first saw these Sweet Pea Stamps by Elaine Cox I had to have the plates-I just love them! They arrived yesterday so I had to ink em up straight away! I thought the Kioshi papers would go perfectly and it seems to be a good match! I coloured the gorgeous image in with my copics-I really had fun colouring it in too! For the layout I used the fab sketch by Martine over at Basic Grey Challenges. Am also going to enter this at Stamp Something who want to see stitching and Practical Scrappers who want to see us using our markers! Here's an image close-up:~

I think that's about it from me today-for all those going to Ally Pally have fun-so jealous-so wish I could be there! I'll be back tomorrow:) If anyone's interested this card is available in my etsy shop:) Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Quixotic Challenges-Spring

Afternoon guys! It is such a wonderful day here-is so lovely to see some sun-I hope its like that where you are too:) Am a bit late posting my Quixotic Challenge DT card, but this week Elaine has picked the theme of Spring. Nice and easy! For my card I've used the Whimsy Stamp Spring Stepping which if you're in the UK and Europe you can snap up from Elaine here-am totally in love with these horses! With the stamp also comes 2 sentiments and a gorgeous border swirl-bargain! I've coloured this beautie in with copics and added a generous helping of stickles stardust too:) Here's an image close-up:~

I wanted to try and keep the card really clean in design so there's no flowers, buttons and the like-that was quite hard for me! I think this card fits in with Crafty Cardmakers who wanted us to challenge ourselves-my challenge was keeping it clean! Am also going to enter this over at Stamp Something who want to see pink something. All the papers I've used are Basic Grey-I think the collection is Eva. Well that's it from me today-just a quick post! Really hope you can find time to join us at Quixotic Challenges this week!

To err is human to purr is feline...Sneak Peek

That's a good quote isn't it! You've probably seen recently that Whimsy rubber stamps are adding a digital line to their collection? Well if you didn't then you can look forward to a week of sneak peeks from the Design Team (see my side panel for links) this week-the images are all fantastic and so in the Whimsy style! I had to use this beautiful kitty first! She's called Pebbles the cat and has been designed by Crissy Armstrong. This image isn't available to buy yet, but will be next Monday 12th April! The sentiment is also going to be available for purchase as part of the new digital line and all the sentiments are by our very own Ann.

Since this kitty is such a princess I had to go all pretty and pink! The papers are MME laundry line which are glittered and have also used Bazzill bling. This totally fits the Stamp Something theme this week as well as Sophisticats (raining cats and dogs), Charisma Cardz (animal magic) and Pollycraft (anything goes).
Here'a kitty close-up:~
For the layout I rotated the fab sketch over at Create 4 Fun. Well I think that's all from me today, keep your eyes peeled for more sneak peeks and I'll be back soon:) Thanks so much for popping by and for any comments you might leave!

I'll be popping this card into my etsy shop shortly;)

A Ride on the Whimsy Carousel

Back again! My favourite all time film has got to be Mary Poppins-I loved it as a kid and I still love it now so imagine how much I loved the new Whimsy carousel horses when I saw them! Fast forward a few weeks and I'm proud to say that I'm now designing for Whimsy Stamps:) When I got my dt package at the weekend I just had to start a project with these beautiful horses and decided to make an actual carousel! And here it is:~

I stumbled across this tutorial here and it became the inspiration for the making of the carousel though my measurements are different. I decided to go all vintage/distressed in sepia tones so I covered each piece I built with book pages that had been distressed with Tim Holtz inks. Before actually putting everything together I decided I wanted some shimmer to the project too so I spritzed everything in Shimmerz treasured hymn then applied tons of perfect pearls in copper. The gorgeous carousel horses are coloured in sepia tones with copics.

I added Shimmerz blingz in gold glimmer to the saddles:~

I bought some gorgeous Magnolia flowers from Clare's shop in town which I thought would go perfectly. I added some extra Shimmerz to them too:)

The beads were also from Clare.

I think this project fits in perfectly with the current Simon Says challenge which is so distressed! Also going to enter at Pile it on who want to see animals as does Charisma Cardz, Sir Stampalot who have a fantasy theme, and By The Cute and Girly who has a fairytale theme this month. If you want to purchase these or other Whimsy stamps go here or if you live in the UK you can grab them at Quixotic Paperie here.

Think that really is it from me today now! Thanks so much for popping by and I really appreciate your comments, and always try to come visit you back too:)
