On to the hop!
If you have hopped on over here from ELAINE's BLOG then you are on the right track, if not then the first blog on the hop youneed to go back to Elaine's blog to start again!

For my make today I got to play with the utterly beautiful 'Sitting Pretty'. I decided I wanted to try and create a bit of a mystical scene so I had a little play with some vine stamps I've had forever and stamped in an olive ink and then added Sakura Stardust pen over the outlines to add a bit of extra definition. for the 'Sitting Pretty' image I used copics to colour-she is a total dream to colour in-I love all the details on her!

All the papers I've used are Basic Grey the new Hello Luscious collection. In my DT pack this month was also some of the fab Make It Crafty chipboard elements-I have the used the Filigree Jewels. They are so easy to use-I will definetly be stocking up on these! They're also so versatile to alter-I decided to just use some glitter on mine-specifically the Viva Decor in Holo-I think Viva Decor is the fastest drying glitter I have ever used-great if like me you have no patience for things drying!

I am going to enter this card at Cupcake Crafts (challenge is in the garden) and Diva's by Design (for the girls challenge) and also Simon Says Stamp (sparkle and shine).

Well that's it from me! This card will be available for purchase shortly in My Etsy Shop in this section.

Thank you for hopping with us today! I hope you are enjoying the journey.

There are SIX adorable new Aurora images, all being released today. They are being showcased in a fantastic blog hop, in which the Quixotic Paperie DT are once again joining the fabulous SCACD DT! I got to use this fab image called 'Bee Mine'-isn't she adorable! She's available at Quixotic Paperie
here (available in the US from SCACD here). I used my copics to colour her in, and added some extra stitching. The yummy papers I used are all Echo Park 'A Walk In The Park'-really fun and bright papers! I also had to get my Viva Decor out again-I used the holo iridescent glitter. All the flowers are punched with my retro punches and the swirls are ek success.

The layout is from the sketch over at Papertake Weekly.

Victoria Case for SCACD Stamps are available in the UK from Quixotic Paperie or direct fromSusana's Custom Art & Card Design in the US.

Viva Blog Hop with Quixotic Paperie and SCACD

Good morning everyone!!! Fun post for you today-fab way to start a Friday! As you probably know there's been a recent new addition to Quixotic Paperie which is the Viva Decor product line. We have all fallen in love, and so, we're having a little blog hop to celebrate!

Joining the Quixotic Paperie Design Team on this hop we have the fantastic
Susana's Custom Art & Card Design Design Team! Susana is a good friend of Elaine's and SCACD has become like an international sister store to Quixotic Paperie! We're collaborating on some crafty adventures, and this is hopefully the first of many!

We hope you will join us on this hop and be inspired in ways to use the Viva Decor product range! You will also have the chance to win some fabulous candy - both Elaine and Susana will be giving away a pack of the most popular Viva Decor Pens (Ice White Pearl Pen, Holographic Glitter Liner and the Clear Gloss Gel Pen).

All you will have to do to win is answer a question at each store blog - 1 entry at each STORE blog per person please! Both blog candy draws will close on 31st July 2010.

In the UK/Europe you can find
Viva Decor products at Quixotic Paperie. If you're in the US/Canada then Susana carries the Viva Decor range at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design.

Right then lets get going!

You should have hopped over here from
The SCACD Store Blog. If not, you might want to pop over to the Quixotic Paperie Store Blog and start from the beginning!

I decided for my make to have a play with the fab new Kraftin Kimmie stamp Arianna. Isn't she fab! I coloured her in with my copics and then applied the Viva Decor pens on top. I used the Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Ruby and Glitter Liner in Gold on her hair. I added some Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Silver to her fins and around the Tim Holtz ticket-love these! You can also buy the glitter liners from Susana Custom Art and Card Design here. After I coloured her and added all the glitter I realised I'd kinda coloured her to make her look like Ariel in the Little Mermaid:) The thing I love about these Viva Decor pens is that you can really add dimension with them-every other product I've used always dries flat but this just keeps its shape! Fab! The papers I used are all from the newly released Olivia Paper pad by Basic Grey.

For the layout I used the fab sketch over at Simon Says Stamp. Here's a little close-up:~

You can also find the stamp I used today at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design with all the other yummy Kraftin Kimmie stamps here.

Well that's it from me!

Your next stop on the hop is the fabulous Lori.
Have fun!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments you might leave!

Quixotic Blog Hop Day!

Good afternoon everyone! Today we're having another Quixotic Blog Hop day, with each of the DT using the gorgeous Elisabeth Bell stamp for SCACD called Danni! That means there's a prize to be won! So what could you win? If you leave a comment on all the Design Teams blogs (links are further down) you will be entered to win the following:

1 Danni stamp (as used in all our creations today)
1 Bag of mixed charms
1 Bag of flat backed pearls

A winner will be drawn randomly on Wednesday 28th October at 1pm GMT.

A few pics today for my project! When I got my 2nd DT package from Elaine she sent me some of her newly arrived wooden shapes and in with the mix was this lovely large heart available here and such a bargain at 99p! When I saw it I couldn't wait to start altering it!

Here are some step by steps for the heart plaque:
  • Paint the edges with Adirondack acrilyic paint dabber in Cranberry or similar and leave to dry.
  • I used some Tim Holtz grunge shapes for the wings, I painted them in the same Cranberry colour and whilst wet spritzed some Shimmerz in Mudpie. Leave to dry until tacky.
  • Apply Tim Holtz Sepia Accents (whilst still tacky) which will give it a protective finish, with a warm tint and used in this way (wet and with the Shimmerz) also gives a light crackled appearance. Leave to dry.
  • Apply adhesive to the wooden heart and cover with paper-I used some MME which had been spritzed again with Shimmerz and inked with distress ink in frayed burlay and aged mahogany.
  • File edges of heart to neaten.
  • Wrap some tulle around the heart-I used Bazzill tulle in truffle available here.
  • Adhere grunge wings to the heart with strong adhesive.
  • Cut Danni out with a circle nesties shape and matt on brown core-dinations card.
  • Colour Danni and mount onto the plaque.
  • Add a butterfly from the brown Prima Say it In Pearls sheet
Here's the main pic of the card which matches the heart plaque. Danni is coloured with copics and Ranger Sepia Accents applied to image after the wings were painted with Shimmerz Spritz in Mudpie (combined with the Sepia Accents it applies a light crackled effect). Used more Prima Say it in Pearls . Machine stitching all around the edges of the MME papers and image. All other ingredients are from Quixotic Paperie. The layout of the card was using the fabby sketch over at A Spoonful of Sugar. Since I've also used Danni I think I fit the criteria over at Flutterby Wednesday too.

Here's some close-ups:~

Flower details:~
So here's the links of the other DT members that you need to visit and leave comments with, I haven't seen their projects yet so am off to visit them myself! No doubt they will have created fabulous creations though-they always do!

Rosette (Guest DT)

Good luck! Thanks so much for stopping by today! xxx
