Sugar Nellie DT Card-More Autumn Fun

Evening lovely crafty friends! Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend! I've had a good one myself, nothing particuarly special happened, just had fun with Leo, nice to just have a bit of lazy weekend isn't it sometimes! I actually finished today's card last night but have had a right palava getting piccies, they all seemed to come out funny till late this afternoon.

On todays card I've used another cutie from the Autumn Kit by Sugar Nellie, ahhh I love it so much! Have had such fun playing with my dt kit you wouldn't believe! Have also used 2 of the accessory stamps that come in the kit on the insides of the card to match the front-I've used the little squirrel and the acorns. Now it's a bit a treat to see the insides of my cards (see pics below) cos tis a rare event that I photograph them, often because it takes me so long to do the front that I end up doing the insides either when they get sold or wing their way to a friend or something:) Since it is all decorated inside, I shall enter it over at Creative Card Crew who as luck would have it want to see the inside decoration of our cards, and at Allsorts as their challenge theme this week is Autumn, also PaperPlay Challenges want to see spots and me thinks the polka dot paper I used will fit nicely! The layout of my card is courtesy of the sketch inspiration over at Friday Sketchers-loved it!

Stuff: Sugar Nellie Autumn Kit available here coloured with copics, Cosmo Cricket Early Bird paper stack, jute ribbon from here, bling from stash, flower handmade from same paper stask, button from here, raffia from local hardware store, core'dinations cardstock, distress ink in frayed burlap, sewing machine

I missed out on going to Ally Pally this weekend but I am going to the NEC in November, so give me a shout if you're going, would be great to say hi! I'm saving up my pennies to go so I can have a big splurge-sooo can't wait! Well am gonna pop off now and do some crafting:) Have a lovely evening. Huggles xxx

Afternoon everyone! Friday already! The week has flown by it seems, been a busy one here, ready for the weekend for sure:) Hope you've all got some nice things planned for the weekend, whether it's a nice lie in or a day out somewhere:)

The challenge this week over at Stamp Something is to use a favourite layout, I'm totally loving the favourite theme we've had going on for a few weeks, and so does everyone else it seems if the amount of entries are anything to go by! For my card today I've used an old Papertake Weekly sketch by Dawny P, have used it lots and by tweaking a few bits every card has looked different. The image I've used is a Whimsy Hippo stamp-totally, totally love this one! Isn't she just great, with her big bum?! Hehehe! At the end of The Quixotic Paperie Whimsy spotlight week (over the weekend) there will be a fab Whimsy prize given away so keep your eyes peeled over at Elaine's blog;)

I'm going to enter this into a couple of challenges: Simon Says Challenge who want to see stitching, and Whimsy Stamps Challenges who are asking us to use our buttons.

Thanks so much for popping by and any comments you might leave-I love reading them all and hopefully will catch up on some blog hopping over the weekend:) Don't forget to enter my blog candy! Hopefully be back tomorrow with some sugary goodness;) Huggles xxx

Halloween Fun!

Evening everyone! How's everyone's week going? Good I hope! All is well this end, had a lovely day actually, spent the morning in the hairdressers, am all re-coloured and feeling better! I decided I had better crack on with some Halloween makes... so this is the first, there'll be some treat boxes to come too soon:)

When I got the dt position with Elaine at Quixotic Paperie she sent some assorted goodies and for my paper selection she sent me the ATD Premium Trick and Treats Halloween papers and I've been dying to use them! Now, I am a bit of a Halloween collector in terms of papers and stamps and general loveliness so have seen and had my fair share of Hallowen papers but believe me these surpass them all! They're all foiled and just generally gorgeous! I would totally recommend getting some, then see if you can bear to cut into them! hehehe. So, as you've gathered all the papers used on my Halloween card are the ATD ones. Whilst having a little spree at Quixotic over the weekend I just couldn't resist this CC Designs Ollie and Griselda stamp set, and when they arrived was proper impressed with the size of the stamps, and there's loads in there too! I just had to use the witch's boots first with the matching sentiment, and stamped the boots out twice so I could pop them up with some silicone glue.

I've not used a sketch or anything for my layout on this card, seem to be having a bit of problem sticking to them on the last few cards! But, I am going to enter this over at Creative Inspirations where the theme is Autumn/Fall since Halloween fits in with the season as well as the Creative Belli Challenge (totally new to me-love finding new challenge blogs!) who want to see Fall or Halloween makes. Am also entering this card over at Paper Blooms (another new challenge to me!) who want to see bling.

Stuff: Witch's boots stamp and sentiment from CC Designs Ollie and Griselda set from here, ATD Foiled and Glittered Halloween papers from here, pumpkin charm from here, silver cord from here, core'dinations black magic cardstock, copic ciao and sketch to colour, distress inks in milled lavendar and dusty concord, button from stash, bling from here, distressing tool.

Thanks so much for popping by today and any comments you might leave me-they make my day! Sleep tight xxx

Slumber Party with Whimsy!

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone is well and having a good start to the week:) Leo is much better today, bless him, and I got some decent sleep so I'm back in the land of the living, mostly anyways;)

The dt for Quixotic have a fun week planned starting from today, over the course of the week we'll be featuring different Whimsy stamps which you can check out and purchase from Elainehere:) I absolutely love Whimsy stamps, as the images are so unique and have such character, particuarly the animals! But for today I've chosen to use Pajama Time Emma, she's so cute in her snugglies:) I've been coveting her for a while and as luck would have it Elaine sent me her in my dt package:) First thing I thought was that I wanted to do a slumber party (sleepover as us Brits call it) invitation card. So as you can see that's what I've done, and well it just had to be all pink and girly didn't it! Here's a close up of Emma:~

I've made a large circular tag to pop the stamped invitation wording on so this fits in with Paperplay Challenges and over at The Secret Crafters challenge they want to see our cards for girls so this is perfect, the colour combo I've used is bang on with the one at the Our Creative Corner, love pinks and browns and Cupcake Craft Challenges want to see our use of distressing techniques!

Stuff: Whimsy Stamps 'Pajama Time Emma' available here, MME Laundry Line glittered paper stack here (I LOVE every single sheet in this stack-totally gorgeous!), Core'dinations cardstock in brownie, distress ink in worn lipstick, tim holtz distressing tool, su ribbon, su sentiment, Martha Stewart doily lace punch here, circle nesties, mini doily, organza ribbon from stash, copics to colour.

I'll be back tomorrow with any luck and later on in the week I'll have another Whimsy make:) Keep an eye out for the other Quixotic dt's Whimsy creations this week and stop by and show em some love! Thank you for popping by today and for any comments you might leave for me. Huggles xxx

More From the Sugar Nellie Autumn kit

Good morning everyone! Am bright and early this morning! Hope everyones weekend is going well and you're managing to get in some crafty time! Not so much crafting getting done here as Leo's teeth are playing up big time so he's pretty much attached to my hip at the moment, and waking up every hour in the night so am a tad tired shall we say!

Had some time last night though to ink up this lovely that I got as part of my Sugar Nellie dt pack from the Autumn Kit. I'm just loving playing with all this sugar so much! This card started life being quite close in layout to the sketch over at the Sugar Bowl, though I knew I wasn't going to be using pink and brown which is a must if you want to be for the delicious prize of the new set of Mary Hall stamps! Tis now rotated from the sketch and I've gone with a semi circle instead of a circle which I embellished with orange and red paper roses. Thanks for the sketch inspiration Marlene, loved it!

Stuff: Sugar Nellie Autumn Kit available here, copic ciao's and sketch to colour, Sara's scrapbooking papers (hotp), core'dinations cardstock, sewing machine, kanban bling, red roses from here, orange roses from stash with added shimmerz in fire engine red from here.

Here's a little close up:~

Enjoy your day, and I'll be back tomorrow! Thanks for popping by and for any comments you might leave! Don't forget to enter my candy if you haven't already:) Huggles xxx

Stamp Something DT meets Sugar Nellie DT-Favourite Colours

Afternoon everyone! Nearly the weekend again! Doesn't it come round quick! Today over at Stamp Something this week we want you use your favourite colours/papers, am lovin all the 'favourites'! So I've used my MME Merry Days of Christmas papers again and distressed them all with some frayed burlap distress ink. The adorable stamp I've used is Mr Stocking, part of the new Sugar Nellie Christmas Mangas. Tis hard to pick a fave with Sugar Nellies but I think this is such a cool boy christmas image. I coloured him in twinkling h20s to give a bit more of a muted feel tomatch the distressed papers. Was fun using a different colouring medium! I also used the sketch over at Sunday sketch and stamp, and the theme over at Winter Wonderland this week is vintage and I think this fits nicely. At the Secret Crafter this week they want to see teenage boy creations so this works too and at The Crafty Pad they want to see our Christmas creations!

Stuff: Sugar Nellie Mr Stocking stamp available here, twinkling h20s to colour, MME Merry Days of Christmas available here, buttons from the wild asparagus button box here, gold cord here, core'dinations cardstock, sewing machine, distressing tool, distress ink in frayed burlap.

Well guys I hope you join in over at Stamp Something this week, love seeing all the fantastic entries! Thanks so much for stopping by and any comments you might leave, I love reading them! Have a fab weekend! Huggles xxx

A Manga Christmas!

Evening everyone! Hope we're all well? I want to just say a special thank you for all the lovely comments I had about my first Sugar Nellie design team card-means a lot! I've had a busy few days, lots of fun busy things though!

When my Sugar Nellie dt kit popped through the post on Saturday it was like all my birthdays had come at once! Along with the super delish Autumn kit I also got some Manga Christmas kids-oh I adore them! They're such fun images for Christmas, and something totally different, I just love em! So on my card today I have used the gorgeous Miss Clause-how cute is her little santa outfit!

For the fur trim on her clothes I thought a bit of sparkle was in order and used some Shimmerz Bling-gorgeous stuff! The papers are more yumminess from MME Merry Days of Christmas. Ooo before I forget I'll tell ya about the note paper I added to the card....Now I don't (yet) have the punch that gives the ripped binding effect so I tore some out of an old notbad I'd bound myself with the Bind It all then crumpled it, inked it with distress ink (frayed burlap) and used a prima stamp to add the lines.

The layout of the card is from this weeks sketch at The Corrosive Challenge blog, first time playing there! I'm also gonna enter it at LaLaLa Land who want us to 'embellish it', Everybody Art who want us create a shabby look (think my distressing counts!), Papertake Weekly who want us to 'fake it' and I did fake the punch for my notepaper so think that counts:) Oooo I do love it when something I make works for a few challenges!

Stuff: Sugar Nellie stamp-Miss Clause buy her and her friends here, copic sketch and ciaos to colour, shimmerz bling in gold glimmer from here, MME Merry Days of Christmas from here, metallic gold crocheted ribbon/lace from here, sewing machine, su sentiment, flowers from cuttlebug die, pearls from stash.

So have you ordered your Christmas Mangas yet? They're flying off the shelves! I think this is my 6th christmas card made-at this rate I might actually be quite organised and not in a mad rush in December but I doubt it;) Tis all part of the fun isn't it?!

Thanks so much for popping by and any comments you might leave me-they make my day! Don't forget to come back tomorrow for my Stamp Something card:) Enjoy your evening! Huggles xxx

I decided in the end to go all sparkly but with a bit of a shabby feel and got my MME Laundry Line papers out which are all glittered-they're so delish! I coloured Shaela in with copics but used Shimmerz bling on the wings and ice stickles to the sparkler I also went over her dress in Shimmerz paint in fire brick red. Also added the shimmerz to the punched flowers too for extra sparkle! This was such a fun image to play with, and I can't wait myself to see the other dts creations! Stamp Something Dt Card-Favourite Embellishments!

Afternoon lovely crafty bloggy people! This might be a bit of a long post so get a coffee:) Hope everyone has had a great week-and it's almost the weekend so what could be better? I'm sorry I've not been about much this week really, have got a cold and chest infection and little Leo is full of cold too bless him and this cold has been killing my mojo;)

So the main reason we're here....Stamp Something! I'm quite excited to see who may have made the top 5 from last week-the entries were fantastic, it's very hard to pick just 5 favourites! But...todays challenge is to use your favourite embellishments. Another fab one! My fave embellies are button, ribbon and raffia so I've gone a bit mad with em;) hehehe. I hope you find time to play with us at Stamp Something this week-love seeing your entries and don't forget we have fab prizes and you can combine our challenge with others;)

Stuff: Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girl 'Party Princess', copic pens to colour, MME papers and MME Laundry Line Papers available here, sewing machine, distressing tool, heart charm available here, buttons from here, raffia lace available here, organza ribbon from stash, sewing machine, big bite, raffia from stash, nesties and cuttlebug.

I also want to bring your attention to my fellow Design Team member Erin's card drive for her neighbour Paige who is only 13 and is in hospital very poorly after a boating accident. She has had to have part of her arm amputated, and the doctors are working to save the rest. She will be facing months of recovery, all of which is very costly in terms of medical expenses. If you pop over to Erin's blog you can read about all the details and ways you can help but Erin is asking anyone who is able to send a card to cheer her friend Paige a little. Also Denise, my teamie and owner of Whimsy stamps has a digi image especially for Paige that you can download and $3 of which goes to Paige's medical expenses. I'll be showing you my card for Paige using the Whimsy digi on my blog soon:)

In the UK we are unbelievably lucky to have the NHS, and all those who work so hard for us within the service to care for us, we don't have to pay for our medical care, and when you have kids or someone close to you becomes ill it makes you appreciate it all the more. So please send a card to Paige-even better if you get the Whimsy download to make it with:)

I also wanted to show you the new Sugarnellie stamps that have just become available in the past couple of days, for 'It's a Girl Thing fundraiser, the proceeds of which go to Breast Cancer. Be really quick with these, they're flying off the virtual shelves and are very limited edition. As you can probably tell from the very recognisable artwork the illustrators are Linda from the Home Grown range, Diane Duda, and Leanne Ellis. Gorgeous aren't they?

Oks, before I go just want to quickly tell you about some gorgeous new things Quixotic Paperie has just got in stock this week! The new CC Designs stamps have arrived! Yea! Looky at these cuties! Who can resist?! Not me that's for sure!

Also in stock are the new Helz Cuppleditch stamps from Stampavie-soooo cute, the new Sarah Kays (christmas), more charms and pearls. If you want these for free, then enter my blog candy to win a £20 gift voucher for Quixotic Paperie and 1 Sugarnellie stamp of your choice! Well that's it from me today! Crafty Cardmakers Guest DT Card

Hello lovely crafty people! Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend and for those in the US that you're enjoying your long weekend!

Some weeks ago Vix emailed me to ask me to be a guest designer for her new challenge blog Crafty Cardmakers. I said yes of course and am very happy to have been asked and so this is my guest design team card! The challenge this time is a sketch-it's a nice simple one which you can either keep simple but of course can modify a bit and add 'extras' if desired. I've pretty much kept to the layout but have tilted the elements.

The papers I've used are all MME 29th Street Market and I thought this beautiful SugarNellie stamp called Reflective was a perfect match to the pretty papers. She's coloured her with copic pens and I then did my usual by adding distress ink in milled lavendar to the outside of the image and edges.

Stuff: Sugarnellie stamp 'Reflective' buy it here, copic ciao pens, MME 29th Street papers, Prima flowers, spacer from Quixotic here, ribbon from stash, distressing tool (tim holtz), distress ink in milled lavendar, sewing machine, martha stewart valentine lace punch, woodware grass punch.

I'm also going to enter this at Creative Inspirations as their theme is lilac, purple and grey (the little branches are grey with a bit of distress ink added) and Copic Creations as their challenge this week is to use your fave colour combo using copics (first time entering there!).

If you've not checked out Crafty Cardmakers please do-especially if you're new to joining in challenges or even cardmaking-there is regular tutorials and useful information-and fabulous prizes! Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for popping by and any comemnts you might leave-they make my day!

We've also started a top 5 each week so another incentive to play! I recently won the Miss Anya dressy set and I'm lovin these sweeties so just had to use one for my project this week! Must say it took me ages to actually make this card as it just wasn't 'working' then I looked at miss anya and the way I'd coloured her and thought she looked like santas little helper! And so it became a Christmas card and it all came together!

Stuff: Miss Anya Dressy set available here (get em quick!) coloured with copics, MME laundry line and Christmas papers available here (frame die cut from paper pack), sewing machine, core'dinations cardstock, organza ribbon from stash, mcgill and xcut punch for flowers, woodware grass punch, spacer available here.

Exciting News!!!!

I've been bursting excitement since late last night and I wanted to share my good news! I've been picked to be on The Quixotic Paperie Design Team! I am absolutely thrilled! I am soooo grateful for this wonderful opportunity!

The other permanent design team member picked was Judy. Me and Judy are joining:

and of course Elaine (the owner)

and these lovely ladies have been picked to be guest designers each for one month :

What a wonderful start to September! I can't wait to get started!

If you haven't checked out Quixotic Paperie then please pop along, the products are beautiful and all at excellent prices. A feature I particuarly like is the shipping is calculated according to the weight of things in your basket-really fair! I hate it when there's a flat rate shipping and you only want tiny things like charms!

Thank you sooooo much Elaine for picking me and to Kim and Carole as I know they helped in the selection too:) Have a wonderful day everyone! I for one shall be grinning like a loon! Huggles xxx
