Quixotic Challenges-Alter It

Afternoon friends! Hope you're all doing good! Since it's Wednesday that means it's time for another Quixotic Challenge and this time I picked the theme and I chose Alter it! I hope you'll find some time to play along with us this week! And here's what I made..........

I've been after the perfect little notebooks to alter for my shop and this definetly it-they're just ideal. I haven't even stamped on this book-just done some stitching and other little touches here and there but the paper is so awesome I couldn't bring myself to cover it!

Birthday Wishes with Whimsy!

Just a real quick post today, am super busy but really wanted to show you this card that I made last week that's been waiting to be posted! This was actually a custom order for a lady in My Etsy Shop as she just loves the Whimsy Carousel horses (also available direct from Whimsy here)-who can blame her eh?!!

I used the yummy Olivia papers by Basic Grey and coloured the image, called 'Wings of Hope' with my copics. The glitter on the wings is the fabby Viva Decor glitter liner in Silver-my Stickles have become redundant now I've found this stuff!

It's really nice having my own official business though it's lots of work-I'm probably working like 60 hrs a week right now-but it's fun, and all mine:)

Victoria Case Blog Hop with QP and SCACD

I got to use this fab image called 'Bee Mine'-isn't she adorable! She's available at Quixotic Paperie here (available in the US from SCACD here). I used my copics to colour her in, and added some extra stitching. The yummy papers I used are all Echo Park 'A Walk In The Park'-really fun and bright papers! I also had to get my Viva Decor out again-I used the holo iridescent glitter. All the flowers are punched with my retro punches and the swirls are ek success.

Afternoon everyone! Hope you're all well and have had a lovely weekend so far-it's still quite hot here in the UK so we've been enjoying the sunshine:)

This week over at Quixotic Challenges Kim Costello (PaperBabe) picked the fab thme of 'miniatures' so you could make teeny note cards, alter a small box, maybe decorate a matchbox....lots of possibilities! I decided to make some tags:) I have just been loving the new Whimsy Stamps Release and I used the Whimsy Birthday Letter Seals-aren't they awesome! Viva Blog Hop with Quixotic Paperie and SCACD

Good morning everyone!!! Fun post for you today-fab way to start a Friday! As you probably know there's been a recent new addition to Quixotic Paperie which is the Viva Decor product line. We have all fallen in love, and so, we're having a little blog hop to celebrate!

Joining the Quixotic Paperie Design Team on this hop we have the fantastic Susana's Custom Art & Card Design Design Team! I decided for my make to have a play with the fab new Kraftin Kimmie stamp Arianna. Isn't she fab! I coloured her in with my copics and then applied the Viva Decor pens on top. I used the Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Ruby and Glitter Liner in Gold on her hair. I added some Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Silver to her fins and around the Tim Holtz ticket-love these! You can also buy the glitter liners from Susana Custom Art and Card Design here. After I coloured her and added all the glitter I realised I'd kinda coloured her to make her look like Ariel in the Little Mermaid:) The thing I love about these Viva Decor pens is that you can really add dimension with them-every other product I've used always dries flat but this just keeps its shape! Fab! The papers I used are all from the newly released Olivia Paper pad by Basic Grey.

Quixotic Challenges DT Card-Pretty Pearls

Afternoon all! Hope everyone's having a great week! This week over at Quixotic Challenges the challenge is set by Kim and she wants us to add pearls to our project. Nice easy one:) Speaking of pearls, have you seen the new Viva Decor pens in stock at Quixotic Paperie? Utterly fab!

Last week I ordered 'Fairy Play' from the new Belles and Whistles Elisabeth Bell Collection so I just had to get her inked up! I used the gorgeous Girl's Paperie papers, some kraft cardstock available from Emma in her Folksy Shop along with 6 x 6 Kraft envelopes-her kraft stuff is fab quality! I've stitched all the edges as usual:) I had a go at making one of those adorable wrapped roses-I love them-and I popped it in the centre of the lollipop flower and painted Shimmerz in pixie dust around the edges.

I actually have joined in some challenges this time! I used the fab sketch over at Mojo Monday-it's been just forever since I played there! I'm also entering this at: Craftalicious (cute), Creative Card Crew (die cuts).

Whimsy New Digital Release

Evening all! Today brings a fabulous new Digital Release from Whimsy! They are so fab! There are 2 fun activities going on to showcase the images that you can get involved in. There's the Blog Hop Release, if you want to join in and have a chance at winning some candy too pop along to the beginning here. My team is part of the Whimsy Challenge where we've all followed a fab sketch and each chosen one of the new images to work with. You can join in too using the sketch and have a go at winning 5 images of your choice-what a fab prize!

I decided to use Crissy's adorable new 'Trimming the Tree image-how cute! It was a total join to colour in, as are all of Crissy's images! The fab thing is, as it's digi, you can start colouring right away! I've actually used some of my Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper which I got last year and never ended up using, I do like this colour scheme though! I also added some punched snowflakes which have been painted with Shimmerz in Pixie Dust and some organza ribbon. The sentiment is from one of Ann's new digital sentiment collections which you can find here-that girls is such a star-I love all her wordart!

Ooo before I forget I wanted to tell you about some fab watermarks and signatures that are now available at Whimsy here, I've had lots of emails in the past asking about help on this so I think this is such a fab idea!

Quixotic Challenges DT Card-Judy's Sketch and I Heart Bunting

Afternoon everyone! Hope you're all well and enjoying the gorgeous weather we're having at the moment! We've had a 2 week break over at Quixotic Challenges while we sorted out the new challenge rules etc so do make yourself familiar with them, I wouldn't want you to miss out on the fabulous prizes on offer! So this week Judy has provided us with a fab sketch-was so fun to use-I'll definetly use it again!

A while ago I bought this Mo Manning stamp 'Jack and Ginger' from Elaine and haven't had chance to get it inked up yet! Whilst I do love digi given the choice I would always go for rubbah so am loving the new Mo Manning stamps which have come out by Stamping Bella which you can grab here. The papers I've used are October Afternoon Thrift Shop, and the flower was made using some spellbinders dies. By the way if you've not checked out all the new arrivals at Quixotic Paperie I would suggest you get yourself over there pronto-tons of goodies have arrived from the new BG Oliver and Olivia papers to Grungepaper-there's lots!

I also have a bit of news to tell ya. Recently I was contacted by theDotComGiftShop letting me know they'd included me in their 50 Superb Craft Blogs List and after a couple of emails they asked if I'd like to review a product of theirs-which I jumped at! Well guess what they sent me?! Bunting!!! Now I am mad on bunting-if such a thing as a bunting coinesseur exists I am probably one of em as I've purchased quite a few different bunting sets and am always hunting different ones out! Afternoon everyone! Hope you've had a fab weekend! It's been absolutely roasting here! This weekend my dad and step mum are visiting so we've been really busy-yesterday we went to the beach and last night we had a lovely meal! I got really sunburnt though yesterday! Today there's been a craft fair in town so we had a good look round and Leo's been playing in and out of the sprinklers this afternoon! All good fun:)

I was so excited when I got sent this adorable image called Wish Upon A Star! How cute! So fun to colour too! I used my copics to colour her in. Quixotic Challenges DT Card-Fold it!

Hi guys! Hope your week has been going well! Sorry for not being around the past week! Anyways, today is a new challenge over at Quixotic Challenges-we had a new rule change last week so if you haven't checked that out then make sure you have a little look. It was my turn to pick the challenge this week and I chose Fold It-either make something which has more than 1 fold or decorate alter something that has more than one fold! I decided to make a gatefold card-haven't made one for like forever so was quite fun, and it gave me another chance to use my new Martha Stewart scoring board!

Quixotic Paperie Store's 1st Birthday Celebrations!!!!

Hello everyone! Up bright and early here today for the 1st Anniversary of the Quixotic Paperie online store, and we're having a very fun celebratory blog hop! If you're already following the hop, you should have hopped over here from Judy's Blog. If not, then hop back to the beginning at the Quixotic Paperie Store Blog. You won't want to miss a stop, as in addition to lots of fantastic inspiration, there are some prizes on offer (full details on the Quixotic Paperie Blog).

Quixotic Paperie was started on June 1st 2009 by Elaine Hughes. Having been an avid crafter (and craft shopper!) for a number of years, Elaine wanted to share her passion and see where it might take her - so,Quixotic Paperie was born! Since then, the store has grown, and now stocks a fabulous range of rubber stamps from around the world: The Greeting Farm, Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, SCACD Stamps, Paper Makeup Stamps, Belles 'n Whistles, the Mo Manning for Stamping Bella range, Stempelglede and more! In addition, the store carries a large range of charms and embellishments, and a host of gorgeous papers for all your crafty projects! To celebrate QP's 1st birthday I've made a card using probably my favourite image from Kraftin Kimmie stamps called Marie Antoinette-she's such a fun image! The papers I've used are a mix of Tim Holtz and some Basic Grey. I've kept it quite simple really, I've stitched all the edges on my sewing machine and the swirls are from my new EK success punch that I got at the craft show on the weekend. I had to add some of the fab Prima e-line pearls too! Here's a little close-up:~

The Pixie Cottage Guest Designer DT card and Quixotic Challenges DT

Bit late again-well quite late! This seems to be a habit at the moment-things seem to be just crazy busy around here at the moment! Anyways-how's your week gone? Good I hope! Hope everyone has enjoyed their lovely long weekend! Yesterday I went with my mum to a craft show near Lincoln which was very fun-bought some new goodies! Today we went to a local tractor rally as Leo loves tractors, was a nice little afternoon out since the sun was shining:)

Wednesday was my last week as Guest Designer for the Pixie Cottage-4 weeks seem to have gone by very fast! Thanks Michelle so much for asking me-I've absolutely loved working with the stamps-they're so fun! This last card uses Little Mermaid by Alisa Ramirez! Look at her eyes! Aren't they fab! You can probably see I added lots of Glossy Accents-makes the image pop me thinks:) All the yummy papers I used are Tim Holtz which you can snag at Quixotic Paperiehere. I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges My Time To Craft (vivid greeting cards) and Polka Doodles (sew and sew) and Cupcake Crafts (summer delights).

Also going to show you my DT card for Quixotic Challenges (below)-the theme this week is embossing so I decided it was high time I got my much neglected embossing folders out! I used a Cuttlebug folder think it's called 'about you' and cut out the word precious and sanded it (I used core card). How adorable is the image! It's by the Greeting Farm and comes as a super cute set it's calledOliver and Amelia the buddies set-Oliver is such a perfect image for a little boy card isn't he?! Very fun and easy to colour too. All the papers I used are from the newly released Max and Whiskers paper pad by Basic Grey-everytime they bring a new release out I just have to get it-it's a sickness I tell ya! I'm going to enter this card at One Stitch at a Time (something new challenge-the papers)

This week is going to be lots of fun for 2 reasons! Tomorrow is Quixotic Paperie's 1st Birthday! I can hardly believe it! There's going to be a super fun blog hop with VERY special guests-it's going to be awesome! And, there'll be lots of prizes! I can't wait!

Also tomorrow it's a new Whimsy Digital release-I won't be on the blog hop cos my team is doing the challenge this month instead but the images are all fantastic-so keep your eye out for that too!

I'm sorry for being such a rubbish blogging friend of late-I have just so busy and still haven't caught up. I've ordered some new Summer clothes so hopefully the weather will stay nice long enough for me to wear some of em:) Bit late again this week, been another busy one but hey it reminds you to join in right?

So this week at Quixotic Challenges the challenge is to use Word Art as your main focus rather than an image. Quite a fun one for those of us who always use images and are used to colouring. The sentiment I've used is by Paper Makeup Stamps-they have the most gorgeous word art:) The papers I've used are from the new scrummy Capella Range which you get from Elaine here. Did you get your Roll Call kit? Ooo I did-such good value-haven't had time to ink those cuties up yet though! I'm going to enter this card over at Basic Grey Challenges who want us to punch it (doily lace) and use Basic Grey, Gingersnaps who want us to use a quote, and Practical Scrapperswho want to see patterned paper.

Making that DT card inspired me to make an Alice in Wonderland card set. I went quite simple really but I think it's quite effective! They're available to buy here on etsy and here on folksy if you're in the UK.
I've had quite a few pieces of good news this week too-a few different people have got in touch and said they'd featured my etsy shop on their blog or website. Today EtsyGreetings have featured my shop on their blog-you can have a peek here if you fancy! I think it must be my lucky week!

The Pixie Cottage Guest Designer DT card

Morning all! Lovely, bright and sunshiney here today! It's my 3rd week of being a Guest Designer for the Pixie Cottage and this week the challenge is 3D-so use dimension on your projects-nice easy one right? The image I've used today is one of the gorgeous new stamps available by the Pixie Cottage called Alisa in Wonderland. Isn't she fab? A lovely whimsical take on the Alice in Wonderland theme me thinks-I just can't get enough Alice in Wonderland!

For my card I used the fab sketch over at The Pink Elephant and am also going to enter it at Papertake Weekly (flowers), Creative Inspirations (punches), Cute Card Thursday (Someone special).

Aren't those papers yummy-they're the new Basic Grey Capella collection which I had to nab straight away when Elaine got them in stock. The charm, tulle and gems are all also from Quixotic Paperie.
