Happy Halloween!

Morning lovelies! Thought I'd show a pic of the cupcakes I made yesterday, it doesn't happen often! They're all gone now though! Not too bad are they? Still I don't think Martha Stewart needs to worry just yet! hahaha. Have a fun Halloween (Samhain) whatever you're doing, and to those in the Southern Hemisphere Beltaine Blessings to you:) Be back later with a card!

Stamp Something DT meets Sugar Nellie DT and I'm back!

Hi lovelies! I've been missing for just over a week and some of you have been wondering where I got to! Thanks for your concern! But actually I've been away for a few days to visit family, which I had planned to mention but I didn't end up getting online with one thing and another. Seems to have been a busy week all round:) Missed you all while I was away! So how have you all been? I have been sneaking in a few minutes here and there to check mr google reader out to see what you've all been upto! I'm sorry to say that I seem to be totally behind in my blog visiting, emails and the lot, I'm so sorry if I haven't replied to you, I shall do all those things shortly. Right onto the card, and then a bit more chatter;)

Todays card is for my Stamp Something dt card, with the challenge this week being cute and fuzzy, good theme isn't it? I've used this darling stamp I got in my dt kit from Sugar Nellie. Totally gorgeous! I absolutely loved colouring her and her little friend in:) All the papers are Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly, love this paper stack! The sentiment is by Stampendous which I got a little bit stung by while I was away as I picked it up, didn't notice the brand and for some reason thought it was 99p but then realised after I'd paid it was £4.99!!! I could buy a Sugar Nellie stamp for that! So you'll be seeing it a lot in different variations so I get me moneys worth! hahaha.

Stuff: Sugar Nellie stamp 'Angel Wishes' available from Funkykits here, copics to colour, sakura clear stardust pen to add glitter from Quixotic Paperie here, Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly papers, bling from stash, SU choc chip cardstock, Papermania felt ribbon (from last year), sewing machine, distress ink in frayed burlap and worn lipstick.

Here's a little close-up:~
I'm going to enter this into a few challenges: Winter Wonderland (open theme), Simon Says (all that sparkles), The Pixie Cottage (celebrate), LaLa Land (ribbon).

So what plans do you have for the weekend? Any Halloween parties?! We're having a little party tomorrow then Saturday night we're taking Leo to a local country park that are having a Halloween party for kiddies-it sounds so fun! I'll tell you all about it after! We got lots of Halloween decorations and stuff yesterday and this afternoon Leo helped me bake some cupcakes which I'll ice in the morning! I'll have to take some pics of Leo in his costume to show you-he's wearing this skeleton outfit with glow in the dark bones! Cute! Well I shall be back soon with another Christmassy card probably tomorrow:) Take care and thanks for popping by to see me and any comments you might leave, I love hearing from you xxx

Quixotic Blog Hop Day!

Good afternoon everyone! Today we're having another Quixotic Blog Hop day, with each of the DT using the gorgeous Elisabeth Bell stamp for SCACD called Danni! That means there's a prize to be won! So what could you win? If you leave a comment on all the Design Teams blogs (links are further down) you will be entered to win the following:

1 Danni stamp (as used in all our creations today)
1 Bag of mixed charms
1 Bag of flat backed pearls

A winner will be drawn randomly on Wednesday 28th October at 1pm GMT.

A few pics today for my project! When I got my 2nd DT package from Elaine she sent me some of her newly arrived wooden shapes and in with the mix was this lovely large heart available here and such a bargain at 99p! When I saw it I couldn't wait to start altering it!

Here are some step by steps for the heart plaque:
  • Paint the edges with Adirondack acrilyic paint dabber in Cranberry or similar and leave to dry.
  • I used some Tim Holtz grunge shapes for the wings, I painted them in the same Cranberry colour and whilst wet spritzed some Shimmerz in Mudpie. Leave to dry until tacky.
  • Apply Tim Holtz Sepia Accents (whilst still tacky) which will give it a protective finish, with a warm tint and used in this way (wet and with the Shimmerz) also gives a light crackled appearance. Leave to dry.
  • Apply adhesive to the wooden heart and cover with paper-I used some MME which had been spritzed again with Shimmerz and inked with distress ink in frayed burlay and aged mahogany.
  • File edges of heart to neaten.
  • Wrap some tulle around the heart-I used Bazzill tulle in truffle available here.
  • Adhere grunge wings to the heart with strong adhesive.
  • Cut Danni out with a circle nesties shape and matt on brown core-dinations card.
  • Colour Danni and mount onto the plaque.
  • Add a butterfly from the brown Prima Say it In Pearls sheet
Here's the main pic of the card which matches the heart plaque. Danni is coloured with copics and Ranger Sepia Accents applied to image after the wings were painted with Shimmerz Spritz in Mudpie (combined with the Sepia Accents it applies a light crackled effect). Used more Prima Say it in Pearls . Machine stitching all around the edges of the MME papers and image. All other ingredients are from Quixotic Paperie. The layout of the card was using the fabby sketch over at A Spoonful of Sugar. Since I've also used Danni I think I fit the criteria over at Flutterby Wednesday too.

Here's some close-ups:~

Flower details:~
So here's the links of the other DT members that you need to visit and leave comments with, I haven't seen their projects yet so am off to visit them myself! No doubt they will have created fabulous creations though-they always do!

Rosette (Guest DT)

Good luck! Thanks so much for stopping by today! xxx

Anyways crafting is a happy distraction and have been playing with another of the Sugar Nellie Country Cousins Christmas stamps, I love this little chap-off posting his rather long list to Santa:)

Mojo Time!

Evening everyone! Ooo I think I'll just about make the mojo monday deadline by the skin of my teeth! I hope anyways-am not much good at understanding all this time zone business with + this and - that! Tis contest time again...and I'm telling ya it is my mission to win once over there at some point...

Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend! In the end me and Ian went to Lincoln shopping on Saturday as our 'time away' and had a lovely time:) Had a leisurely lunch...had a wander then spent a good amount of time in the bookshop having a little read while drinking iced coffees, then back home in time to catch the X-Factor. Lovely! Both me and Ian love reading, I don't read now as much as I did before Leo, I often listen to audio books now, while I craft! But yesterday I decided to buy the Twilight series since well, it seems, everyone has read em and loves them. Have been resisting getting them as I didn't think it would be my thing, am not much into vampires but so far so good:) Am really enjoying em!

Anyways....I came on to show you my card! I got this super cute girly by The Greeting Farm as soon as Elaine at Quixotic Paperie got her order delivered the other day! Had my eye on her since she came out, I think she's fab! Totally enjoyed colouring her in too:) Elaine has also got all the other new Greeting Farm releases in over at her shop so fill yer boots! I used some more Urban Prairie papers, and had went wild and used two different thread colours on my sewing machine! hahaha.

Stuff: Laundry stamp by The Greeting Farm available here, basic grey urban prairie papers, distress ink in worn lipstick, sewing machine, tulle from here, bling from stash, core'dinations cardstock, pins from here

Here's a little close up of the girly...dreaming of better things me thinks, at least she looks pretty though, I don't look that good sorting out the washing!

I'm also gonna enter this over at Anya Ink, a new challenge blog set up by my Beautiful and super talented friend Tracey and Marcia, who makes gorgeous creations too! The challenge there this week is to use patterned paper (easy right?!) so do go check it out! Also at Caardvarks (new blog to me!) they want us to do something fabulous with ribbon,

I'm ashamed to say I haven't been getting round to visit you all....and I'm so sorry! I shall though! I am keeping a keen eye on everything through my little google reader...am watching! Soon I'll get round and do some visiting, thanks for coming by to see me and any comments you might leave-love hearing from ya!

Sugar Nellie Door Hanging

Evening everyone! Hows your week going? Good I hope! Yesterday my Sugar Nellie DT package arrived and I just had to ink up this sweet little witch right away! Was hoping to have had this finished yesterday but Leo's been teething again (how he can't have them all yet I don't know!) so my craft time has been seriously eaten into, as has my sleeping time! Anyways..was so thrilled to have got this Mary Hall stamp in my package, she's just perfect for Halloween, and especially ideal for kiddies-some of the Halloween stamps around are quite scary!!!!!

I promised my friend Michelle I'd make her a door hanger/wall hanging for Halloween so this shall be going to her and her little boy. I'm also going to enter this into a few challenges, Simon Says Challenge (Halloween challenge), ASOS (Halloween theme), Fun with Shapes and More(Halloween again!), Pile It On (3d-my image has been raised by silicone glue), and the layout is courtesy of the sketch over at Midnight Madness.

Quite oddly I've not used any embellishments but I really wanted to show off the image and the gorgeous foiled papers, and well, just anything I tried to add, looked too 'overdone'. Here's a little close up:

Stuff: Sugar Nellie stamp by Mary Hall 'Little Witch' available here, ATD premium papers available here, copics to colour, sewing machine, core'dinations cardstock, spider web ribbon from here, black mirri card

Well I'm gonna catch up on a bit of tv, and then best get to bed as we're off shopping tomorrow:) Thanks for stopping by and any comments you might leave, I love reading them! Am sorry for being a bit absent on my blog visiting of late but will hopefully get to catch up a bit soon! xxx

4 Days Later......

Evening everyone! 4 days later and I'm back with something to show! Has been a bit of an odd week for me which is why I haven't posted, haven't felt well (the germs from leo must have finally got me! hehe) and my creativity packed its bags and went on its hols well and truly taking my motivation with it! Not a nice feeling. In any case I think a little break has done me good, I think that creating every day-will force you into a break every now and then to recharge. I did miss everyone though! I think I am almost back to myself now!

I bought this beautiful Sugar Nellie stamp a couple of weeks ago and haven't had chance to ink her up yet and thought now was the time since I've been dying to use her! It's one of the 3 stamps brought out by Sugar Nellie for their It's A Girl Thing fundraiser-all proceeds of the sale of these stamps go 100% to Breast Cancer Fundraising-this image is donated by Leanne Ellis-one of my all time fave artists! I actually coloured her in using a mixture of distress inks and twinkling h20's and shimmerz. I also stamped her out twice so I could layer her up with some silicone glue but left the wings so it kinda looks like they're fluttering out of the card:)

I haven't played over at Midnight Madness for a few weeks but totally loved this weeks sketch the minute I saw it so had to have a go! I've used my sewing machine to do some wavy stitches around the square layers so it doesn't look too um square I guess! I don't do clean lines it seems do I?! Over at 3 Clovers they want us to Think pink as October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so this is so perfect for this card!

Stuff:
  • Sugar Nellie stamp 'Cherub' available here while stocks last (very limited edition so get these now-they won't be restocked!),
  • MME Wild Asparagus papers, hero arts sentiment, lace and prima say in pearls all from quixotic paperie
  • Core'dinations cardstock, distress inks and twinkling h20's, sewing machine

Almost the weekend.....can't wait, I'm having a rare night out with my friend Michelle Saturday night...I wonder where I put my dancing shoes;) Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you might leave me-they're very much appreciated! Huggles xxx
