Sugar Nellie Gift

Evening! The time is flying by! I'd like to buy another couple of days please:) Mostly I'm done though, just wrapping to do, and a couple more cards to handout that I didn't need to get done for last post today! I made this card and candle for a gift for Christmas, well I made several of the candles actually, this Sugar Nellie 'Poinsetta Girl' stamp by Leanne Ellis-which you can gethere, has been my most used Christmas stamp this year for cards and on gifts-the size is just perfect for tall altar candles. I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing this sweetie again because she can be used for so many other occasions!

Stuff: Sugar Nellie stamp by Leanne Ellis 'Poinsetta Girl' available to buy here, copics to colour, cosmo cricket jolly by golly paper from here, sewing machine, tulle available here, bling from stash, snowflake punch, spotty ribbon from stash, nesties, cuttlebug, stickles in stardust which you can grab here, sentiment by hero arts.

I'm going to enter this over at Creative Card Crew who has an open theme. Off to do finish up those cards! Enjoy your evening and thanks for stopping by:) xxx

Snow Day!

Evening friends! We got a fair bit of snow here yesterday and tonight! Was beginning to feel left out! Sorry for my lack of absence once again but it's all go, especially with the moving, which will be on Tuesday now-cutting a bit fine to Christmas! How's all your preps going? I got the bulk of my cards sent, but still need to do 5 more to catch the last post on Monday, plus parcel some pressies off.

The project today I'm showing is a gift for my brother in law, a calendar and a bookmark. I think he'll like it! I used a mix of papers from Cosmo Cricket 'The Boyfriend' to cover some chipboard and stamped on them in Tim Holtz's large number stamp-I love how big some of his stamps are, perfect for large areas. Feels kinda nice have a big wood mounted stamp in your hands:) I also used my label maker on the front of the calendar. Not sure the brand of the star tape is, picked it up with some of others at a craft show a coupla years now. I used the bind it all machine for the binding and added some twine too. The template for the calendar can be found in my other post here.

Here's a close-up of the bookmark. The skull is also a Tim Holtz stamp. Around the edges of both of the calendar and bookmark I used distress inks and then used the Tim Holtz distressing tool.

Here's a side view of the calendar:~

I'm going to enter this over at Stampin For The Weekend who want to see calendar creations. I just need to make myself one now before the New Year comes along:) It also fits quite nicely with the Secret Crafter's Challenge of last minute gifts. That's it from me! Thanks for popping by and for any comments you might leave, they really mean a lot:) Keep warm xxx

Quixotic Challenge #7-Lace

Evening friends! How's everyone doing? Well I hope! Me and Leo had a lovely morning with Michelle and her little boy and we cut Leo's hair! This is a big deal because Leo hates having his hair cut, by anyone, hairdressers, me, anyone! But it was getting so long so me and Michelle had a bash and he wasn't too bad, he looks like a different boy now! Anyways...am here to tell you about the new Quixotic Challenge, which was chosen by Carole, and she wanted us to use some lace. Easy one!

Fa La La La La

Evening all! Where are the days going?! Am sorry for not being about since Wednesday but tis crazy here, not only with the general seasonal stuff but with the moving house stuff. The moving house will hopefully be on the 21st, week today even! The only thing holding stuff up is getting the electric and water on and all that as its a new house. So is everyone all carded out yet?! I think I have enough, but still haven't counted (shall have to write them this week though!). I kinda daren't look, so I'm just keeping it going just incase! Anyways....

A bit over a week ago I won some stuff over at the Cosmo Cricket blog, $100 worth of stuff to be exact! It came Saturday and I was just so excited when I saw it all! I got so much! I got jolly by golly 12 x 12 paper kit, 12 x 12 earth love kit, 12 x 12 nutmeg kit, 12 x 12 early bird kit, 2 packs of ribbon, 6 x 6 nutmeg paper pad, 5 sheets of 12 x 12 chipboard shapes, 2 packs of ribbon and some stickers. How cool is that!!!

So I had to use more jolly by golly paper (my little 6 x 6 pad had almost run out!), and I used this adorable Sugar Nellie stamp by Leanne Ellis called 'Skating Annie' which you can buy here. I do love my Annie stamps! The cool thing about the majority of the Sugar Nellie Christmas stamps are that there are very few that are specific to Christmas, most you can use all year round!

Stuff: Sugar Nellie 'skating Annie' available to buy here, copics to colour, cosmo cricket jolly by golly paper available here (10% off!), flowersoft in polar white, crackle accents for ice (bottom of image), bling, twine, snowflake punch, text from paper kit, sewing machine, paperartsy stamp (holly swirls around image), distress inks in frayed burlap and antique linen.

Here's a close up of Annie:~

I'm going to enter this at Everybody Art whose theme is red and green, and Sophisticats who have an open Christmas theme. Well that's it from me tonight! I will be back though much more this week as I have stuff I've made that I haven't posted yet! Thanks for popping by and for any comments you might leave, they mean a lot:) xxx

Sweet Baby Girl-Sugar Nellie DT

Mine's been pretty good, quite quiet:) In my monthly Design Team package from Sugar Nellie this month were the beautiful new sweet stamps from the Sugar and Spice collection and this little cutie is called 'Bubbles'. I just love her!! I thought she'd make a perfect card for a 1st birthday for a little girl:) Since it's not for anyone in particular I'll be putting this in my etsy shop shortly incase you're interested (all funds shall be going towards a new carpet for the new house so you could be buying a square metre! hahahaha)!

Monochrome Christmas Gifts

Evening everyone! Yea it's Friday and Ian is actually off tomorrow to am looking forward to the weekend:) Not sure what we're doing though, possibly a mixture of packing and working on more gifts and christmas cards and we'll be taking Leo out somewhere too. What you guys upto? Is it me or did it suddenly get really cold!?! Bring on the snow!

So the project I'm showing you today is one of the gifts I've made to give for the season. This will go to my step mum I think. All the paper is dcwv La Creme stack (ohhh how I love it!).

Calendar: The calendar pages are printed from a template by CAT on SplitCoastStampers which you can find here. Saves a lot of time having a template, and then it's ready to stamp on and pretty up:) The flourish stamp which I used on the corners of the calendar pages is by Autumn leaves and all my stamping was done with Ranger Archival jet black ink (I love this stuff-it's the purest black ink I've found). For the covers of the calendar I've covered some plain chipboard in the la creme papers and used the bind it all to bind the project. The numbers are cut with the cuttlebug and I've stamped the autumn leaves flourish around a nestie frame. Oo and I added a bit of tulle in raven-it seems I am addicted to this stuff-which you can buy here. Here's a close-up of the insides:~

Photo Frame: I bought a couple of the new papermania bare basics photo frames at the NEC and thought it was high time I use them and get them ready for gifts! I separated the frame in the middle so it was easier to cover (thanks Clare if you're reading!) again with the le creme papers and then stuck the frame back together again. I stamped the front with the flourish stamp again to match the calendar, added some bling and then added a sizzix flower. The flower is layered up with silicone glue to add a bit of dimension. Here's a flower close-up:~

I'm going to enter this into a few challenges:

Stamp Something want to see glitz (I've got bling!), Whimsy Stamps want to see monochromatic, and Pile it On who want to see flowers and flourishes.

Well that's it from me, enjoy the rest of your evening! Thanks for popping by and for any comments you might leave-I really appreciate them! xxx

Quixotic Challenge #5-Charms

Afternoon friends! Tis Wednesday so that means its time for another Quixotic Challenge, and this week the challenge is to use charms on your project, as picked by Martine. I decided to use a Miss Anya since she's been a bit neglected of late, and if you don't have this set yet (why would that be?!) you can buy it here! I think this card will be going to my niece for her birthday this month. I can't believe we're in December! I need to start posting cards soon I guess, and I'm already getting in a panic over the handmade gifts that I'm soooo behind on now!! Oh well, am sure it'll all get done:)

All the papers are from the gorgeous Cosmo Cricket Early Bird pack which you can grab from Quixotic Paperie here. The charm is one of the many gorgeous embellishments that you can buyhere. At the moment I seem to be making cards with a very minimal amount of embellishments, not sure what that's about, but everytime I try and add stuff it never looks right.

Here's a close up of the fabulous Miss Anya:~

I'm going to enter this over at Papertake Weekly and Simon Says Challenge as their theme this week is also charms!

Well that's all from me today, I hope you find time to join in our challenge, and don't forget you can combine it with as many as you fancy! Also the more times you play in a month the more chances you have of winning the fabulous Quixotic Paperie gift voucher:)

What do you reckon to my new wintery looking blog? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for snow before the end of the month! Take care, and I'll be back with something to show tomorrow.
