Sugar Nellie Gift

Evening! The time is flying by! I'd like to buy another couple of days please:) Mostly I'm done though, just wrapping to do, and a couple more cards to handout that I didn't need to get done for last post today! I made this card and candle for a gift for Christmas, well I made several of the candles actually, this Sugar Nellie 'Poinsetta Girl' stamp by Leanne Ellis-which you can gethere, has been my most used Christmas stamp this year for cards and on gifts-the size is just perfect for tall altar candles. I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing this sweetie again because she can be used for so many other occasions!

Stuff: Sugar Nellie stamp by Leanne Ellis 'Poinsetta Girl' available to buy here, copics to colour, cosmo cricket jolly by golly paper from here, sewing machine, tulle available here, bling from stash, snowflake punch, spotty ribbon from stash, nesties, cuttlebug, stickles in stardust which you can grab here, sentiment by hero arts.

I'm going to enter this over at Creative Card Crew who has an open theme. Off to do finish up those cards! Enjoy your evening and thanks for stopping by:) xxx

Snow Day!

Evening friends! We got a fair bit of snow here yesterday and tonight! Was beginning to feel left out! Sorry for my lack of absence once again but it's all go, especially with the moving, which will be on Tuesday now-cutting a bit fine to Christmas! How's all your preps going? I got the bulk of my cards sent, but still need to do 5 more to catch the last post on Monday, plus parcel some pressies off.

The project today I'm showing is a gift for my brother in law, a calendar and a bookmark. I think he'll like it! I used a mix of papers from Cosmo Cricket 'The Boyfriend' to cover some chipboard and stamped on them in Tim Holtz's large number stamp-I love how big some of his stamps are, perfect for large areas. Feels kinda nice have a big wood mounted stamp in your hands:) I also used my label maker on the front of the calendar. Not sure the brand of the star tape is, picked it up with some of others at a craft show a coupla years now. I used the bind it all machine for the binding and added some twine too. The template for the calendar can be found in my other post here.

Here's a close-up of the bookmark. The skull is also a Tim Holtz stamp. Around the edges of both of the calendar and bookmark I used distress inks and then used the Tim Holtz distressing tool.

Here's a side view of the calendar:~

I'm going to enter this over at Stampin For The Weekend who want to see calendar creations. I just need to make myself one now before the New Year comes along:) It also fits quite nicely with the Secret Crafter's Challenge of last minute gifts. That's it from me! Thanks for popping by and for any comments you might leave, they really mean a lot:) Keep warm xxx

Quixotic Challenge #7-Lace

Evening friends! How's everyone doing? Well I hope! Me and Leo had a lovely morning with Michelle and her little boy and we cut Leo's hair! This is a big deal because Leo hates having his hair cut, by anyone, hairdressers, me, anyone! But it was getting so long so me and Michelle had a bash and he wasn't too bad, he looks like a different boy now! Anyways...am here to tell you about the new Quixotic Challenge, which was chosen by Carole, and she wanted us to use some lace. Easy one!

Fa La La La La

Evening all! Where are the days going?! Am sorry for not being about since Wednesday but tis crazy here, not only with the general seasonal stuff but with the moving house stuff. The moving house will hopefully be on the 21st, week today even! The only thing holding stuff up is getting the electric and water on and all that as its a new house. So is everyone all carded out yet?! I think I have enough, but still haven't counted (shall have to write them this week though!). I kinda daren't look, so I'm just keeping it going just incase! Anyways....

A bit over a week ago I won some stuff over at the Cosmo Cricket blog, $100 worth of stuff to be exact! It came Saturday and I was just so excited when I saw it all! I got so much! I got jolly by golly 12 x 12 paper kit, 12 x 12 earth love kit, 12 x 12 nutmeg kit, 12 x 12 early bird kit, 2 packs of ribbon, 6 x 6 nutmeg paper pad, 5 sheets of 12 x 12 chipboard shapes, 2 packs of ribbon and some stickers. How cool is that!!!

So I had to use more jolly by golly paper (my little 6 x 6 pad had almost run out!), and I used this adorable Sugar Nellie stamp by Leanne Ellis called 'Skating Annie' which you can buy here. I do love my Annie stamps! The cool thing about the majority of the Sugar Nellie Christmas stamps are that there are very few that are specific to Christmas, most you can use all year round!

Stuff: Sugar Nellie 'skating Annie' available to buy here, copics to colour, cosmo cricket jolly by golly paper available here (10% off!), flowersoft in polar white, crackle accents for ice (bottom of image), bling, twine, snowflake punch, text from paper kit, sewing machine, paperartsy stamp (holly swirls around image), distress inks in frayed burlap and antique linen.

Here's a close up of Annie:~

I'm going to enter this at Everybody Art whose theme is red and green, and Sophisticats who have an open Christmas theme. Well that's it from me tonight! I will be back though much more this week as I have stuff I've made that I haven't posted yet! Thanks for popping by and for any comments you might leave, they mean a lot:) xxx

Well that's it from me, just a quick post today! I do hope you can join us this week over at Quixotic Challenges, look forward to seeing your entries! Take care xxx

Sweet Baby Girl-Sugar Nellie DT

Evening friends! How's your weekend been? Mine's been pretty good, quite quiet:) In my monthly Design Team package from Sugar Nellie this month were the beautiful new sweet stamps from the Sugar and Spice collection and this little cutie is called 'Bubbles'. I just love her!! I thought she'd make a perfect card for a 1st birthday for a little girl:) Since it's not for anyone in particular I'll be putting this in my etsy shop shortly incase you're interested (all funds shall be going towards a new carpet for the new house so you could be buying a square metre! hahahaha)!

Stuff: 'Bubbles' available here by Sugar Nellie, copics to colour, MME Pretty Please papers available here, tulle, nesties, cuttlebug die for number, charm available here, prima bling, martha stewart heart punch available here (on offer right now too!)

Here's a close-up:~

For the layout I've followed the sketch over at sketch saturday. Well that's about it from me since it's late and all and still need to watch the X-Factor. Enjoy the rest of your evening! Thanks for popping by and for any comments you might leave! xxx

Monochrome Christmas Gifts

Evening everyone! Yea it's Friday and Ian is actually off tomorrow to am looking forward to the weekend:) Not sure what we're doing though, possibly a mixture of packing and working on more gifts and christmas cards and we'll be taking Leo out somewhere too. What you guys upto? Is it me or did it suddenly get really cold!?! Bring on the snow!

So the project I'm showing you today is one of the gifts I've made to give for the season. This will go to my step mum I think. All the paper is dcwv La Creme stack (ohhh how I love it!).

Calendar: The calendar pages are printed from a template by CAT on SplitCoastStampers which you can find here. Saves a lot of time having a template, and then it's ready to stamp on and pretty up:) The flourish stamp which I used on the corners of the calendar pages is by Autumn leaves and all my stamping was done with Ranger Archival jet black ink (I love this stuff-it's the purest black ink I've found). For the covers of the calendar I've covered some plain chipboard in the la creme papers and used the bind it all to bind the project. The numbers are cut with the cuttlebug and I've stamped the autumn leaves flourish around a nestie frame. Oo and I added a bit of tulle in raven-it seems I am addicted to this stuff-which you can buy here. Here's a close-up of the insides:~

Photo Frame: I bought a couple of the new papermania bare basics photo frames at the NEC and thought it was high time I use them and get them ready for gifts! I separated the frame in the middle so it was easier to cover (thanks Clare if you're reading!) again with the le creme papers and then stuck the frame back together again. I stamped the front with the flourish stamp again to match the calendar, added some bling and then added a sizzix flower. The flower is layered up with silicone glue to add a bit of dimension. Here's a flower close-up:~

I'm going to enter this into a few challenges:

Stamp Something want to see glitz (I've got bling!), Whimsy Stamps want to see monochromatic, and Pile it On who want to see flowers and flourishes.

Well that's it from me, enjoy the rest of your evening! Thanks for popping by and for any comments you might leave-I really appreciate them! xxx

Quixotic Challenge #5-Charms

Afternoon friends! Tis Wednesday so that means its time for another Quixotic Challenge, and this week the challenge is to use charms on your project, as picked by Martine. I decided to use a Miss Anya since she's been a bit neglected of late, and if you don't have this set yet (why would that be?!) you can buy it here! I think this card will be going to my niece for her birthday this month. I can't believe we're in December! I need to start posting cards soon I guess, and I'm already getting in a panic over the handmade gifts that I'm soooo behind on now!! Oh well, am sure it'll all get done:)

All the papers are from the gorgeous Cosmo Cricket Early Bird pack which you can grab from Quixotic Paperie here. The charm is one of the many gorgeous embellishments that you can buyhere. At the moment I seem to be making cards with a very minimal amount of embellishments, not sure what that's about, but everytime I try and add stuff it never looks right.

Here's a close up of the fabulous Miss Anya:~

I'm going to enter this over at Papertake Weekly and Simon Says Challenge as their theme this week is also charms!

Well that's all from me today, I hope you find time to join in our challenge, and don't forget you can combine it with as many as you fancy! Also the more times you play in a month the more chances you have of winning the fabulous Quixotic Paperie gift voucher:)

What do you reckon to my new wintery looking blog? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for snow before the end of the month! Take care, and I'll be back with something to show tomorrow.

Sugar and Spice

That's the name of the new collection at Sugar Nellie which you can check out here, and very fitting it is too:) Something for everyone me thinks, even cute babas:) This girly, named Elise, was my fave when I saw her on the peeks at the Sugar Nellie blog and had to ink her up right away! I LOVE her dress, is such a perfect party dress me thinks. Oh don't you just love little girls party dresses?!!! Soooo cute, with there big satin bows and frills! Has made a nice change from making wintery cards as well, feels like I've been making them half the year!

Stuff: Sugar Nellie stamp 'Elise' available here, copics to colour, bazill swiss dots, MME Be Loved paper pack from Quixotic Paperie here, prima say it in crystals here, red satin bow from stash, hero arts sentiment available here

Here's a little close-up:~

Ooo have to tell you about the red bow, you'll never guess where it came from! Tesco were having a bit of an offer on Baileys and since its Christmas and all that.....and all the bottles have these gorgeous red bows on right now! I thought it would look perfect with Elise's party dress!

The layout is from the fab sketch over at Friday Sketchers this week.

Hmm think that's all from me today, gonna watch the X Factor in a sec and eat some cake that I made this afternoon. Yum! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for popping by to see me and for any comments you might leave, I love hearing from you:) Hugs xxx

Dreamy

Afternoon friends! How's your week gone? Good I hope! If not then at least it's Friday today and the weekend is almost here:) Mine's been a bit topsy turvy, been waiting to hear about this house (I HATE waiting!) and then today we finally heard that we've got it and fingers crossed might get to move in next week at some point:)

I've called my post dreamy because even though this beautiful Sugar Nellie stamp by Leanne Ellis is called 'Poinsetta Girl' she just seems so dreamy and ethereal to me. Love her! Have coloured her with copics and added some Shimmerz in gold glimmer to her ruffle. Here's a little close-up:~

All the papers are Cosmo Cricket jolly by golly which are available here. Also used some fab Prima flowers from the E-line (what a bargain!) which you can buy from Quixotic Paperie here.

Quixotic Challenge #2-Stitching!

Hey everyone! Tis Wednesday and that means it's time for another Quixotic Challenge! This week I've picked the challenge and I want to see stitching on your projects. As little or as much as you like, hand or machine! Don't forget the more times you enter within the month the more chance you'll have to win the fab prize of a £20 Quixotic Paperie Voucher.

Elaine sent me one of the gorgeous new Twinkle Tot stamps by The Greeting Farm which you can purchase from Quixotic Paperie here. She was a joy to colour! Tellin ya though-I want her hat! Too cute! For the papers I've used some yummy Basic Grey which I got from the NEC-think they're from the Blush collection. All the stitching has been done on my little janome mini sewing machine. Now the ribbon, would you believe, is actually from an old box of Thorntons chocolates, and I'd obviously kept the ribbon and it's been sat in my ribbon draw since last year!

Stuff: Twinkle Tot stamp by The Greeting Farm available here, copics to colour, Basic Grey papers, sewing machine, dcwv glitter stack, ribbon from stash, Martha Stewart valentine lace punch.

Here's a little close up:~

The layout of my card is from the gorgeous sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week and am also going to enter this over at LaLaLand who want to see us get punchy!

I loved visiting you all to check out your entries last week and I hope you'll join in again! Don't forget you can combine our challenge with as many others as you fancy!

Winter Love

Morning guys! How's everyones week going so far? Good I hope! I'm still poorly but hopefully will be feeling better soon once my antibiotics have kicked in:)

On Friday I got my monthly Design Team package from Sugar Nellie and oh my how sweet it is! I will never get used to receiving dt packages, I always feel like the luckiest crafter alive to be given such wonderful stamps and goodies! I just had to use this new Diane Duda stamp first, tis my favourite I think and they're called 'Winter Birds' and are available to buy here. To see all the new releases from Sugar Nellie go here as Leanne Ellis, Diane Duda and Mary Hall have all got new releases out-you're gonna love em! I thought these birdies would go super well with my new MME Love Me Do paper set available here from Quixotic Paperie-they are soooo gorgeous! I thought these beautiful birdies would be fab as a Winter anniversary card perhaps or even a not so traditional Christmas card to a loved one. I might save it for Ian for our 1st wedding anniversary in January;)

For the layout I've used the sketch over at the MME blog because even though its more geared towards a scrapbooking layout there's no way I could resist having a shot at the fab prize they've got since I love MME so much! Also I'm going to enter this over at Cute Card Thursday (another awesome prize this week!) where the theme is primary colours, and Allsorts where they want to see sparkle!

Stuff: Sugar Nellie stamp 'Winter Birds' by Diane Duda available here, copics to colour, MME Love Me Do paper pack and accessory sheet available here, Cosmic Shimmer iced crystal jewels (think that's the name!) for snow on branch, flowersoft polar white for earmuffs, sewing machine, dcwv glitter stack, stickles for adding glitter around hearts, accessory sheet of MME paper pack, hero arts sentiment, distress ink in broken china.

Here's a close up of the cuties:~

New stash...and a Stationery Set for Christmas

Evening all! Ooooo I had a fab time yesterday but am so poorly today! Full of cold and a sore throat! Eww. But back to yesterday! Early start to get ready and out of the house for 6:30, but mum was running late then on the way the car started blowing smoke through the heaters, they weren't clearing the steam and I thought we weren't going to make the coach at all at that point! So I decided we should carry on, keep the windows down and wipe the windscreen with a cloth all the way! Oh my was it freezing! Then when we parked the car we had to run for the bus! Oh what a fun morning! Still once we got the coach all was fine and we could chill for a bit!

We had such a fab day at the NEC but twas soooo packed you could barely move, but it's always that way isn't it really! I also got to meet Kim Dellow, Kim (paperbabe), Jo, Heather, and Tara. I hope I didn't leave anyone out! Lovely to meet up and say hi! Missed Marlene though and then I forgot I had her number by which time I realised I did it was about 4pm and I had to make a mad dash round to get the bits I'd eyed up before going home! So here's what I got: ek success snowflake border edge punch for £9.50 (bargain!!!), few copics I didn't have, 25 sheets of basic grey for £5 (another bargain!), a plate of paperartsy stamps, 4 different frames for altering, pencil case for altering, ribbon, and nesties. Think that was everything!

Now then, onto my little project! This year (Christmas) I am mostly giving handmade gifts, I always wanted to from like the age 10 but they always turned out rubbish! So this year is the year! I haven't given myself much of a headstart so we'll see how it goes. Anyways, this is a stationery set I made and am quite chuffed with it really. Tis very simple in terms of design but was quite time consuming mostly because I did a lot of stitching but I do like the effect. I've included in the set 6 cards with envelopes, notepaper (all stamped) and a little bookmark. Not one sheet one dp paper was used!

Here's a pic of the inside plus bookmark and one of the cards:~

Stuff: Penny black stamp, coredinations cardstock, card blanks from stash, su choc chip cardstock for cards, sewing machine, distress inks in frayed burlap and tea dye, ribbon from the NEC, bling from stash, tulle.

Over at Stamping For The Weekend they want to see our festive goodie boxes. I'm not totally sure this qualifies but I made it with this challenge in mind so hopefully and it is for a Christmas gift! This also fits well for the Saturday Spotlight Challenge as they want to see us use a stamp repeatedly. Finally am entering this into the Penny Black Saturday Challenge, the challenge there this week is to create a project with a song title or lyrics in mind soooo, mine is Sweet Like Chocolate by Shanks and Bigfoot (because of the colour scheme). Remember it? Hehehe.

Well am gonna go now and snuggle up on the sofa with hubby and watch the X-Factor results! Thanks for popping by and any comments you might leave. xxx

Excited!

No card to show am afraid but will have a project to show probably Sunday once I've bought some ribbon to match, you'd think in the mountains of ribbon I have I could find something suitable but no! Anyways...am off to the NEC tomorrow! Wohooo! Early start for me, leaving the house 6:30am! If you want to meet up send me a quick email tonight otherwise if you see me about say hi! I'll be the one with the black and red/pink hair in a purple jumper! Ha, don't think it'll be that easy somehow in the huge crowds but ya never know. Shall post a pic of the bits I buy when we get home:) Enjoy your Saturday whatever you get upto. xxx

A Traditional Christmas

Morning all! How's your week going so far? Tis almost the weekend! I can't wait for Saturday, off the NEC I go! Tis also Bonfire night tonight, I think we're going to a local display, haven't been to a display for years!

Today I've got quite a traditional Christmas card to show. I got this gorgeous stamp in my dt kit from Elaine, called 'Two Turtle Doves'. You can buy it here, and since Elaine is having 10% off at the moment, it's a bargain! The actual stamp is a heart shaped bauble with holly then this cutie inside but I masked the bauble off and just used the main image this time.

For the layout I've used the fab sketch over at Cupcake Craft Challenges this week and I'm also going to enter into the Belli Challenge who want to see raffia or twine.

Stuff: Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Two Turtle Doves stamp here, copics to colour, Basic Grey Wassail paper here, liquid pearls in silver pearl here, SU sentiment, twine from stash, pin from stash, charm from here, tulle in french vanilla here.

Here's a little image close-up:~

I think that's it from me today! Hopefully have something else to show you tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks so much for stopping by and any comments you might leave me-love hearing from you! xxx

A Little Warning!

Afternoon all! Just wanted to do a quick post to warn you about something just incase you get the same thing. I had a comment left for me from a blog friend saying some not so nice things (not about my cards), in anycase it wasn't from the person who left the comment but if you clicked on the persons name it would take you directly to my friends blog to make it look like they had left the comment. Hope that makes sense! In any case should you get any comments from me or anyone else that aren't 100% nice then you know what's going on!

Anyways, hope you're having a lovely afternoon!

There's gonna be lots of fun over on SplitCoastStampers in the Sugar Nellie forum tonight so do pop along, there'll be lots of sugar to be given away too! In celebration of Sugar Nellie's birthday I've got this alternative Christmas card to show ya. I've used Manga Girl #2 and used MME Colourful Christmas papers for something not so traditional. Nice and bright and fun me thinks:)

For the layout of the card I've used the fabby sketch over at Midnight Madness, love playing over there! Am also going to enter this into the following challenges: Papertake Weekly (spots and stripes), Tuesday Taggers want to see a burst of colour, and Crafty Angels want to see a charm.

Also before I go I must tell you about the exciting deliveries Quixotic Paperie now has in stock! Happy Halloween!

Morning lovelies! Thought I'd show a pic of the cupcakes I made yesterday, it doesn't happen often! They're all gone now though! Not too bad are they? Still I don't think Martha Stewart needs to worry just yet! hahaha. Have a fun Halloween (Samhain) whatever you're doing, and to those in the Southern Hemisphere Beltaine Blessings to you:) Be back later with a card!

Stamp Something DT meets Sugar Nellie DT and I'm back!

Hi lovelies! I've been missing for just over a week and some of you have been wondering where I got to! Thanks for your concern! But actually I've been away for a few days to visit family, which I had planned to mention but I didn't end up getting online with one thing and another. Seems to have been a busy week all round:) Missed you all while I was away! So how have you all been? I have been sneaking in a few minutes here and there to check mr google reader out to see what you've all been upto! I'm sorry to say that I seem to be totally behind in my blog visiting, emails and the lot, I'm so sorry if I haven't replied to you, I shall do all those things shortly. Right onto the card, and then a bit more chatter;)

Todays card is for my Stamp Something dt card, with the challenge this week being cute and fuzzy, good theme isn't it? I've used this darling stamp I got in my dt kit from Sugar Nellie. Totally gorgeous! I absolutely loved colouring her and her little friend in:) All the papers are Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly, love this paper stack! The sentiment is by Stampendous which I got a little bit stung by while I was away as I picked it up, didn't notice the brand and for some reason thought it was 99p but then realised after I'd paid it was £4.99!!! I could buy a Sugar Nellie stamp for that! So you'll be seeing it a lot in different variations so I get me moneys worth! hahaha.

Stuff: Sugar Nellie stamp 'Angel Wishes' available from Funkykits here, copics to colour, sakura clear stardust pen to add glitter from Quixotic Paperie here, Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly papers, bling from stash, SU choc chip cardstock, Papermania felt ribbon (from last year), sewing machine, distress ink in frayed burlap and worn lipstick.

Here's a little close-up:~
I'm going to enter this into a few challenges: Winter Wonderland (open theme), Simon Says (all that sparkles), The Pixie Cottage (celebrate), LaLa Land (ribbon).

So what plans do you have for the weekend? Any Halloween parties?! We're having a little party tomorrow then Saturday night we're taking Leo to a local country park that are having a Halloween party for kiddies-it sounds so fun! I'll tell you all about it after! We got lots of Halloween decorations and stuff yesterday and this afternoon Leo helped me bake some cupcakes which I'll ice in the morning! I'll have to take some pics of Leo in his costume to show you-he's wearing this skeleton outfit with glow in the dark bones! Cute! Well I shall be back soon with another Christmassy card probably tomorrow:) Take care and thanks for popping by to see me and any comments you might leave, I love hearing from you xxx

Quixotic Blog Hop Day!

Good afternoon everyone! Today we're having another Quixotic Blog Hop day, with each of the DT using the gorgeous Elisabeth Bell stamp for SCACD called Danni! That means there's a prize to be won! So what could you win? If you leave a comment on all the Design Teams blogs (links are further down) you will be entered to win the following:

1 Danni stamp (as used in all our creations today)
1 Bag of mixed charms
1 Bag of flat backed pearls

A winner will be drawn randomly on Wednesday 28th October at 1pm GMT.

A few pics today for my project! When I got my 2nd DT package from Elaine she sent me some of her newly arrived wooden shapes and in with the mix was this lovely large heart available here and such a bargain at 99p! When I saw it I couldn't wait to start altering it!

Here are some step by steps for the heart plaque:
  • Paint the edges with Adirondack acrilyic paint dabber in Cranberry or similar and leave to dry.
  • I used some Tim Holtz grunge shapes for the wings, I painted them in the same Cranberry colour and whilst wet spritzed some Shimmerz in Mudpie. Leave to dry until tacky.
  • Apply Tim Holtz Sepia Accents (whilst still tacky) which will give it a protective finish, with a warm tint and used in this way (wet and with the Shimmerz) also gives a light crackled appearance. Leave to dry.
  • Apply adhesive to the wooden heart and cover with paper-I used some MME which had been spritzed again with Shimmerz and inked with distress ink in frayed burlay and aged mahogany.
  • File edges of heart to neaten.
  • Wrap some tulle around the heart-I used Bazzill tulle in truffle available here.
  • Adhere grunge wings to the heart with strong adhesive.
  • Cut Danni out with a circle nesties shape and matt on brown core-dinations card.
  • Colour Danni and mount onto the plaque.
  • Add a butterfly from the brown Prima Say it In Pearls sheet
Here's the main pic of the card which matches the heart plaque. Danni is coloured with copics and Ranger Sepia Accents applied to image after the wings were painted with Shimmerz Spritz in Mudpie (combined with the Sepia Accents it applies a light crackled effect). Used more Prima Say it in Pearls . Machine stitching all around the edges of the MME papers and image. All other ingredients are from Quixotic Paperie. The layout of the card was using the fabby sketch over at A Spoonful of Sugar. Since I've also used Danni I think I fit the criteria over at Flutterby Wednesday too.

Here's some close-ups:~
