A Funny Old Weekend but here's something Gorjuss:)

Evening lovely bloggers:) How's your weekend been, or your bank holiday weekend for some? It's been a funny one here! Everything was going well till Ian (hubby) rang yesterday afternoon and said he'd had "a little accident", then the details came.... that he's wrote the car off, he'd spun it and landed upside down. Well, I was in a right kerfuffle! Got to him and he was in the ambulance, police were there, firemen were on their way...the whole lot! He'd managed to get out without so much as a scratch! Thank goodness! He was soooo lucky! There weren't any other cars involved so all that was ok, so we've just got our insurance to sort out now which is going to leave us a bit broke me thinks as we have a huge excess on the insurance:( Oh well am sure it'll sort out one way or the other.

But, onto happier things:) Here'a gorjuss christmassy card! This gorjuss girlie is available fromFunkykits and is perfect for christmas makes me thinks:) All the paper I've used is from my delicious new MME Laundry Line 12 x 12 pad that I got from Elaine at Quixotic at a bargain price as they're on special offer right now for a few more days so get em quick!

Stuff: Sugarnellie Gorjuss Girl 'Little Star' available here and coloured with copics, Papers MME Laundry Line available here, Embellishments (gold cord, charms, lace) available here, raffia from stash, su ribbon, su sentiment, sewing machine, crop a dile for hole punch on tag and core'dinations cardstock.

The layout of this card is from Friday Sketchers, which I've rotated and am also entering it for the ABC challenge as their theme this week is C for circles, and Pile it On's challenge for this week is 'round' so I reckon my card fits in with that too-well at least the paper and sentiment does:) Thanks for popping by and any comments you might leave me, they really make my day, truly! Happy Halloween Doorhanger!

Evening everyone! Hows the bank holiday weekend going? Mine's going well and I've had a really fun evening making this Halloween doorhanger (click image for a close up)! The other day when I was having a bit of lunch I was reading a back issue of the Craft Stamper magazine from May when my friend Judy had done a fab Sugarnellie feature and one of the projects she'd made was a doorhanger and since I wanted to start my Halloween (Samhain to some of us) projects I thought it would be ideal!

For the papers I've used the fab MME The Spiders Web from Elaine at Quixotic here with some distress ink in dusty concord sponged lightly. The fab image is one of Mo's-I absolutely adore her artwork and was only $3! Bargain!

Stuff: Mo's digital image 'Halloween Witch' coloured with Promarkers and copics, MME The Spiders Web available here, core'dinations card, distress ink in dusty concord, weathered wood and fire brick red, tim holtz distressing tool, gold elastic cord and twine available here, buttons from stash, sentiment is from a halloween stamp set but not sure of the brand (possibly hero arts).

I'm going to enter my project at Truly Scrumptious which was anything but a card and Double Dutch who asked us to pick one of their previous challenges to create from so mine is challenge 16 called Do not Disturb. Also over at Allsorts this week they're banning rubber and want to see digis so this definetly fits!

Since we're on the subject of Halloween have you seen these new Halloween stamps from Sugarnellie designed by Mary Hall? How cute are they? I just love em! They'll be available very soon from Funkykits so keep checking regularly so you don't miss out! Night night all!

Over at the Penny Black challenge they wanted to see stitching on our cards and I've used a mix of real and faux (faux around the image) and Creative Inspirations also want us to use stitching! At the other Creative Inspiration but the wednesday one they want to us to make a friendship card and I think this would be a goodie to give to a friend!

So whats everyone upto this weekend? Tis bank holiday weekend in the UK, last one of the summer! Not sure what we're going to be doing yet but Ian is actually off on the Monday so perhaps we'll do something fun! Thanks for popping by today and for any comments you might leave-I love reading em! Feeling Bright!

Evening lovely crafty bloggers! Hows your day been? All's good this end, been to Lincoln today to do a bit of shopping, pay some bills and I had to pop into the art shop to buy a few more copics to top my collection up! Slowly, slowly I'm getting there-buying a few copics here and there will slowly add up-I love em! I do like my Promarkers but I really wish I'd bought copics in the first place, ah well!

I can't believe I haven't posted since Monday, tis terrible blogging behaviour! lol. Well I have done some cards, on Tuesday night I had a card to do for my wonderful friend Michelle for her hubby but from her little boy (does that make sense?!) which I gave to her on Wednesday. Because I was a bit last minute making it I forgot to take a piccy! What a wally! Then last night I made my dt card for tomorrow, and well that brings us to today.

Can you tell I'm feeling bright? I just had to have a go with this little beauty from Sugarnellie! Dena, very kindly stamped her up for me as she keep selling out, I just keep missing out on getting her! These manga kids from Sugarnellie have been super popular, and you can see why can't ya! If you haven't checked out the sugarnellie blog you need to to see all the beautiful new stamps coming soon-including christmas manga kids! These are sooooo adorable, can't wait till they're released!

I'm also entering this at Lalaland who want to see stitching-real or faux. Well I'm gonna go catch up with Big Brother-I'll be back tomorrow afternoon with my Stamp Something dt card. Thanks so much for popping by and any comments you might leave-they make my day! Huggles xxx

Anyone for anya?

Afternoon everyone! Hope your day is going well. Me and hubby are going to the cinema tonight so I'm looking forward to that-we're going to see Orphan. We don't go out much these days y'know! lol. Thanks for all the lovely comments about Leo and help with the engagement card-just got to make it now! The new challenge blog Anyone for Anya started yesterday-go looky-the theme for the first challenge is sugar and spice which means your favourite things though you could interpret it other ways too. I've followed the sketch at Splendid Stamping with the Greeting Farm and have used my new dressy anya-these are absolutely my favourite set-I love them! Over at Stamptacular Sunday they want to see us use dimension on our cards and I've layered the card up quite a bit. I chose to use turquoise and brown-a gorgeous colour combo but one I rarely use and it just so happens to be the theme at the Secret Crafter. I've also done a fair bit of machine stitching (good ole janome sew mini!) on my card so this works for Creative Inspirations.

Stuff: Miss Anya (Dressy anya collection) by The Greeting Farm coloured with copics and promarkers, HOTP fleamarket papers, core'dinations card, sewing machine, prima flowers, lace, button and spacer from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie, kanban bling, woodware paper punch.

Ooo just to give you a heads up the new Sugarnellie Homegrown stamps have been released today-get em quick before they sell out! Well am gonna start dinner so I'll see you all tomorrow with any luck! Thanks so much for stopping by. Huggles xxx

Winter Wishes

Evening everyone! Hows your weekend going? Mine's been good so far, apart from yesterday when me and my friend Michelle took to the kids out for the day and things all got a bit dramatic! In the afternoon Leo suddenly out of nowhere started walking oddly on his right leg like then he wouldn't walk at all-not like him-he'd much rather run around than be carried! After a little bit when it still hadn't improved I took to him to A and E, they examined him and everything and his temp was up as well. So...the consultant decided we needed to go to a bigger hospital as he thought there might be fluid on his hip and a temperature is a symptom of it so off we went-was really worried by this point! When we got to the next hospital and after more examinations and more doctors it was decided it wasn't a hip problem, and actually he was ok-just a bit of a bug and by this point he was walking ok after being given medicine and off we went home! He's pretty much fine now, thank goodness and no walking problems so who knows what the leg thing was about! Its such a guessing game when they can't communicate enough to tell you what the matter is!

Anyways...I have a card to show ya! I got this cutie stamp about a month ago but was waiting for some lovely christmas papers and now I've got some newies decided it was time to ink her up! Also time to start cracking on with the chrismas/yule cards! There seems to be a few challenges this week who are encouraging us to do just that so this card works for Simon Says Challengewho want to see christmas creations, winter wonderland who want to see home featured in christmassy creations (there's sweet little houses on the paper I've used), Dutch Dare also want to see Christmas Creations as do Creative Card Crew. The layout of this card is courtesy of the fabulous Kellie's sketch challenge-you should defo pop over there as you could win 3 adorable motivet stamps!

Stuff: Motivet stamp 'doraline bundled up', mme papers 'merry days of christmas', pearls and bead cap from the Elaine at Quixotic Paperie, ribbon from stash, sewing machine, mcgill and x cut punch, core'dinations card

Ooo almost forgot to ask you guys-I need to make an engagement card for my step brother and his now fiancee-any image ideas? Thanks so much for stopping by and any comments you might leave me-they make my day! Enjoy the rest of your evening! Huggles xxx

Pile it On-DT Card-Oh Boy!

Morning everyone! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. It's operation clearout here this weekend, we've been getting rid of loads of old stuff and since I'm scheduling this but writing it last night (does that makes sense? hehe) I'll be at a car boot sale trying to sell said stuff! The money will be going in the stamp fund jar:) Anyways....

Since it is Sunday, that means it's Pile it On day and it's a fab challenge again! This week is also my last design team project. The theme this week is called Oh Boy! I know most people struggle a bit with cards for the boys but I do find them quite fun to make, nice change and all. Plus...Sugar Nellie does some fantastic boys stamps so you'll never be stuck for the 'right' image:) I've used one of the new Mary Hall stamps that you can buy as a single or as part of the full collection and there's some fab ones in there. I don't go mad with the combining this week, and I think it's cos I actually had done quite a few earlier in the week I started to run out of challenges! It also qualifies for Whimsy Challenges which want to see animals and am going to enter it for ABC challenge which is Anything Goes, Allsorts which is vintage, and Paperplay Challenges which is all creatures great and small. Happiness

This image makes me so happy when I see it! I just love the quirkiness of Diane Duda's stamps! The past two evenings I've just not been in the mood for creating though. I realised today this was probably due to mountain of stash on my craft table! I'm not a tidy worker by any means but because I do do alot of crafting and have a habit of not tidying up after it my desk can quickly become covered! So it was time to clear up! Now I have so much space!

I haven't played over at Sketch Saturday for a couple of weeks so thought I best remedy that! I've also combined a few other challenges:) At Whimsy Challenges they want to see your friendship cards (am just in the nick of time for entering this..again!), tuesday taggers (a newie to me) want to see flowers as do A Spoonful of Sugar, and Papertake weekly want to see creations with a theme of a season-I'm going for Summer!

Stuff: Sugarnellie stamp by Diane Duda 'Upside Down', coloured using copics, distress inks in shabby shutters and broken china, core'dinations card, Basic grey papers 'Lemonade collection', McGill flower punch, xcut flower punch, prima and papermania bling, studio g sentiment, BoBunny doublesided ribbon.

We had a fab day at the Farm Park on friday, leo loved feeding the animals! We all went on one of those big trampolines as well-so funny! My candy will be closing soon! I've absolutely loved reading all your comments on what has made you smile-all of em made me smile! I also had a lovely email today from a fellow crafter (if you're reading this Michelle-you really made my day!) which made me smile even more! Hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend-here in the UK we've been super lucky with the weather!

Stamp Something Dt Card-Charmed

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is had a fab week and looking forward to the weekend! I've scheduled this post so right now I'll be with Leo and my friend Michelle and her little boy at a farm park feeding goats or something!

So...its time for the new Stamp Something challenge and this week we'd like to see charmed somethings! I've used a sweet Sugarnellie image, by Elisabeth Bell called Penpal and used my dcwv latte stack. The layout is a slightly adapted sketch from Midnight Madness, which was another really fun one again and I'm going to enter it at Simon Says which want to see buttons and ribbon. One day I shall win that $25 prize, still its fun trying isnt it!

Stuff: Sugarnellie stamp 'Penpal' coloured with promarkers, dcwv latte stack and core'dinations card, pokey tool and white pen for adding faux stitching, sewing machine for real stitching, prima flowers, twine and charms from stash, foam pads from raising the cut out circles from the latte stack.

The Sugar Bowl

Evening everyone! How's your day been? It's been pretty good this end and have had a lovely time having my mil here, and she so enjoyed seeing Leo again. Seems we're back to the wet weather again though doesn't it?!

It's Sugar Bowl time again and this time it's a gorgeous sketch by Marlene with the please include option of doodling. Now I haven't included doodling but if you want to be eligible for the prize then you must include it. The prize this time is a pick and mix of Sugarnellie stamps-who wouldn't love that!

I forgot to tell you yesterday about my sewing machine, a bit ago I said my brother machine needed a service but I think it didn't really love me putting card through it so I decided to save mr brother for just material and get a ickle machine purely for cardmaking and such. So after seeing a few recommendations..I got a sweet little Janome mini off an ebay shop for about £30 which arrived yesterday-and I love it! It's a good little sturdy machine, good speed, easy to use so I would definetly recommend it. So..I've got some stiching on this card, really missed adding it when I was without a machine, I think it finishes things off lovely like:)

Stuff: sugarnellie stamp 'ropeswing' coloured with copics and promarkers, mme wild asparagus and papermania regency papers, core'dination card, distressing tool, k and co rub on, prima flowers, pm brad, sewing machine, distress inks in antique linen and vintage photo, martha stewart doily lace punch.

Craft Stamper mag is out soon, Friday I think, though if you subscribe you'll have it already and a fab one it is too-especially since my teamie Judy's work is on the front cover! She's done a fab feature on stitching...you must check it out! Well am off to catch up with Big Brother, see yas tomorrows:)

Monday 3 August 2009

Delicious Diva Challenges!

Wohoo! Today's the first ever Delicious Diva Challenge! The first challenge is a fabby sketch to follow and who doesn't love a good sketch?! Don't forget you can resize, rotate or alter the elements which is what I've done. I used Miss Bumblebee from Sugarnellie which is now available in single gorjussness! Now I don't like to play favourites with my stamps but I've got to say this little cutie is fast becoming my fave all time gorjuss girl!

Stuff: Sugarnellie Gorjuss girl stamp coloured with promarkers, basicgrey papers, core'dinations card, stickles for wings, prima flowers, ribbon and button from stash, hero arts sentiment, kanban bling.

Don't forget to pop over to check out the other guest dt cards, they're all delicious! Thanks so much for stopping by and any comments you might leave-they really make my day! Huggles xxx
